காயத்ரி என்னும் வார்த்தைக்கு எவர்கள் தன்னை கானம் பண்ணுகிறார்களோ அவர்களை ரக்ஷிப்பது என்பது அர்த்தம். கானம் பண்ணுவது என்பது ப்ரேமையுடனும் பக்தியுடனும் உச்சரிப்பதாகும். யார் தன்னைப் பயபக்தியுடனும், ப்ரேமையுடனும் உச்சாரணம் செய்கிறார்களோ அவர்களை காயத்ரி மந்திரம் ரக்ஷிக்கும்.
