எத்தனை போட்டாலும் திருப்தியில்லாமல் கபளீகரம் பண்ணும் நெருப்பு மாதிரி தான் ஆசை, எத்தனைக்கெத்தனை எளிமையாக வாழ்கிறோமோ அத்தனைக்கத்தனை ஆத்ம க்ஷேமம். நாம் எப்படி வாழ்கிறோமோ அப்படியே பிறரும் வாழ வேண்டும் என்று நினைப்பதற்கு முந்தி, நாம் எப்படி வாழ வேண்டும் என்று தீர்மானம் செய்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். அடிப்படைத் தேவைகள் எல்லோருக்கும் பூர்த்தியாக வேண்டும். அதற்கு மேல் ஆசைக்கு மேல் ஆசை, தேவைக்கு மேல் தேவை என்று பறக்க வேண்டியதில்லை.

Excellent statement and many of us in principle would agree but how far we practice it today?
I may get convinced and to an extent my wife also to limit with basic requirements. How do I control my children from their demand for luxuries? Will they not be left behind in the society and whether we as parents would not be blamed by them tomorrow?
With due respect to Maha periava, I am placing this question in front of this blog. Hope He will trigger someone to give suitable reply.
