Paropakaram

Thanks to http://sankaramathas.blogspot.com

From my personal life experience I have learnt not to postpone doing a good karma. Periyava here emphasizes too. I have seen in my own life that the money I wanted to spend towards a good karma vanishes just by delaying/postponing…Let us read and follow at least a fraction of what He had said.

    [25-10-1932.]
Among all the countries in the world, our country is in the poorest condition. Even so, this school is an example that there is a charitable spirit here. Most other schools were established by the government and people from other countries. Those from this country did not establish them. Such is the state of poverty in our country. Only a few people have a charitable disposition.
Everyone should have a charitable spirit. Following the example of those who founded this school, everyone should do good deeds. If the spirit of charity is strong, one can do a good deed when the opportunity arises. That spirit should be present from childhood. All the children who study in this school should develop the spirit of charity as a benefit of studying here.

They should be those who have that thought. If you do a charity whenever you have the opportunity, it will last forever. The charity of the one who founded this school has created a reputation for his family. If he had spent money like everyone else, he would not have achieved such fame.
Everyone can do their bit of charity. You can dig a small well. That will make many people happy. Even the goats and cows will drink that water and be happy. If you build a temple and perform pujas, festivals, etc., everyone will receive the blessings of the Supreme Soul. You can achieve happiness throughout your life. You can set up a garden of happiness. You can set up a water pavilion. The highest charity of all is food. You can build a tavern and give food. The highest charity of all is Vidyadalam. Children should be taught to have a charitable attitude. That will bring happiness to everyone.
God gives us wealth. We should do charity with it. We should do charity according to our ability. There are many expenses in our life. There comes a time when we get a hundred or two rupees at once. Then a

We can dig a well and give charity. When we can do it, we should do it immediately. We should not think about whether we can do it later. If we have three hundred rupees, we can immediately build a small temple. If we have a thousand rupees, we can build a slightly larger temple. If we have ten thousand, we can establish a school. We should think of people with a generous mind and think of doing charity like them. Whenever we see their pictures, we should also make the intention of doing charity. If everyone does their best to do charity in this way, there will be no sorrow in the world. If everyone thinks that even if we have difficulties, we should do charity to others, that is the basis for the removal of worldly sorrow. Whether the charity is small or big, it is charity.
Therefore, in each of our lifetimes, we should perform a consistent act of charity to the best of our ability and attain the blessings of this world and the bliss of heaven.
