As we all know, Bramhasri Mannargudi Periyavaa was one of a very small subset of Vaidheeka Karma authorities in recent past (Srimad Appayya Dheekshitar of Adayapalam was another one) that Sri Maha Periyava held in the highest esteem. Despite being an authority on Vedhanta (Bramhasri Mannargudi Periyavaa’s one of the granthams is a book that one needs to pass on Vedantham in Sri Matham exams), Bramhasri Mannargudi Periyavaa was praised by Sri Maha Periyava as the ultimate practitioner of Vaidheeka karmas. Bramhasri Mannargudi Periyavaa’s 200th Jayanthi celebrations is being held on June 6th & 7th. His gruham is currently being managed/maintained by Sri Matham. Click here to read about Periyava on this mahan.
In recent days, among Sri Maha Periyava’s `contemporaries`, it is probably Bramhasri Musiri Dheekshitar who might qualify for such high praise.

The line “….myself is the great of grandson of Sri Bramhasri Mannargudi Periyavaa. (14th paramparai)”
should be read as “….myself is the great grandson of Bramhasri Mahamahopathya Yagkyaswami Sastrigal.(14th paramparai)”
My sincere apologies for the oversight error.
Mr. S V Jayaraman, Founder Member of Mannargudi Periyavaa Seva Samiti is the Grand son of Bramhasri Mahamahopathya Yagkyaswami Sastrigal.
