Plant vilva trees to celebrate HH Periyava’s 80th jayanthi year

Balaperiyava_watering_plants

As a part of 80th year celebrations of His Holiness Pujya Shri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal, devotees in Puducherry have taken up the task to plant tree saplings in various places. As a beginning 80 vilva trees are to be planted. His Holiness Pujya Shri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal watered the first sampling in the premises of Shankara Vidyashram School, Odiyambattu, Viliyanur, Pondicherry and blessed the event.

We can do the same. People living in individual houses can afford to do this.

Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara!

  4. WE live in Pune. When we moved to this Apartment building a decade back,
there was a Bilwa tree, close to the compound wall in the entrance. We, the
residents used to pluck one or two “tri-dalams” every day and offer to our
Home Pooja. The builder, not knowing the value of the plant, one day….was cutting it , since the place was earmarked for a manhole of the rain water drainage. We found it in time and transplated it , with root, inside the compound where ,we had facilities to maintain a mini garden of lowers, Tulsi etc. But it did not survive.
If any one could give us sapling we can grow a tree., in our compound. Fortunately a Datta Mandir
has been constructed in the other side of the compound wall, where the Bilwa tree was existing…Vedanarayanan 020 2582 2266 Pune.
