Typing this from London airport – waiting for my connection to Chicago….
Three weeks went too fast – as usual. Purpose was to spend time with my parents, which I thought I did to some extent. Planned to meet few folks within Chennai but couldn’t do it due to lack of time/transport/hot hot hot days. This trip is quite memorable for me as both Periyavas were in Chennai during my entire stay period. So it was a 30 mts ride from W.Mambalam to RA Puram to see Chandarmouleeswarar puja and attended puja to heart’s content!
I was very fortunate to spend a lot of time and interact with HH Balaperiyava. He was very kind enough to discuss on the projects that we have been doing through the blog. He gave some advices on certain areas of our work/blog. Listening to HH Balaperiyava is like listening to a visionary CEO! He is full of ideas/plans on how we all should work hard to revive the culture that has been lost in the past few decades. He also introduced lots of absolutely great folks to me who are doing different projects under the governance of Sri Balaperiyava with whom we need to collaborate on those initiatives. Some of the projects that were discussed::
1. Thanjavur Parampara (http://www.thanjavurparampara.com)
2. Panchadravidam (http://panchadravida.com)
3. Women empowerment & Cultural education for all
4. Gho rakshanam
5. Bringing our village atmosphere near Chennai – more targeted towards the next generation kids
I will be writing details about each of these projects and the idea is how we all Sri Matam devotees can/should participate in making these projects successful.
I have a pet project, which I told Periyava also – “Vaanam paartha Sivalingam” – there are so many just in Kanchipuram city itself and also outside for which we need to do our best in bringing up a very basic infrastructure. HH Mahaperiyava had talked a lot about this. Sri Balaperiyava heard this point also.
I originally planned to go to RA Puram on the day I left but due to lack of time to pack, I couldn’t make it!
More work to do! More support is needed – not just monetary but also volunteers from everywhere…These are our projects… Let us all do this together!
More to come soon….
Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara!

By the way what happened to Part 2 of the Temple Visits?
good to hear yes Periyava Vijayendhirar gives lot of advises to visit many small siva temples in and around kanchipuram, Tiruvalllur, Chennai districts. Its good to see lot of devottes now spedn time and take care these small siva & vishnu temples.
Vedanarayanan & Kamala from Pune also join VijiVenkatesh of Mumbai to assure Maheshji to be with him. in the punar udharanam of Satara Sankara Matam where Sri Maha Periyava was camping for 11 months.
We were in Bombay then. Every one from Bombay will agree with me…that it was very difficult to visit
Kanchpuram and have Darshan of Sri Maha Periyava. But during the period Sri Maha Periyava was camping in Satara we , from Bombay, have visited almost 5/6 times, in groups with family and friends.. without much effort or preparations. WE had gone by train, ST Bus and Car …whichever was readily available whenever we thought of going to Satara. We recall several memorable incidents / anecdotes during our visits…which are still vivid in our memories. It was during this time…the Sahasra Lingam to be installed at Allahabad Sankara Matam was brought by the Stapathi to Satara
for sanctifying by the the Thiru Kara kamalangal of HH. HH Sri pudhu Periyava also paid a visit and we were there that time. We also attended a Shiv Ratri pooja there. Many school going children used to come
with flowers plucked on the way from gardens and keep before HH. Sri Maha Periyava used to collect all those flowers and offer to Sri Sankara when He goes after His anushtanams. We will share the anecdotes..
from time to time…with like minded readers….which will be interesting… We have vsited later also after we
shifted to Pune…and the Nataraja temple came up. The Sankara matam , I remember , is situated on a small hillock …which was reachable only through a rough sloppy path.

Kindly change the Title from End of my trip! – to Recent Trip. There is never End.
Done! >
Mahesh,
Regarding the “vaanam Partha Sivalingam” , especially in Kanchipuram, we have documented them in the following page
http://www.columbuslost.com/2013/12/108-shiva-temples-of-kanchipuram.html
The first step would be for all of us would be to visit one or more of these temples whenever we visit Kanchipuram.
Dear Mahesh, Looking forward to more details on the projects. The third point in the list is gaining momentum with His blessings, under the banner, SriVidya Samiti.
This is not the end of your trip Mahesh! Never ever say end in your life ! You have to go go a long way to achieve more and more for the well being of Hindu community. What you are doing at present is a great job in midst of your other duties ! Long live for the betterment of our Religion!!
Excellent beginning & not the end ,since every end has a beginning .I live in Gujarat for the last 39 years ,migrated from Tamil Nadu .I am a devotee of Mahaperiava & my life & most of our decisions are even to day are as per His Blessings I visit TN once a year nowadays & have interactions with people other than Brahmin communities ,but Hindus .There is a strong opinion among most of them is that the Madam belongs to Brahmins only ,though they worship Sankaracharyas .I have taken efforts to tell them whenever opportunity arises that it is a wrong conception & the Madam belongs to all Hindus & for the upliftment of Hindus .I used to tell them the visits of SRI SRI Jayendara Saraswati Swamigal to Dharavi at Mumbai & his monumental efforts to up bring their standard of living ,by taking up with Govnts & NGOs
Pl guide how to remove this misconception .Whenever i visit Madam i find many people from other communities visit & Both Periaval give them hearing & blessings . May i take the opportunity of telling Brahminhs to give preference to other communities to meet Periaval whenever they visit the Madam .
No preference is needed. I agree that the misconceptions about Brahmins still continue but that should not deter you. In fact there are a lot of Muslim and other devotees visit matam and as periava said one should be true toneself. Periava has done a lot to harigens in a most envious manner.
It is only beginning of a long journey . It is envisioned that our culture will be re-vitalised and you will lay the path for it. It is MahaPeriyava ‘s aagnai ,it is obvious May He bless us all
Hello Mr.Mahesh!
Very glad to hear that you were able to get the blessings of the Acharyas during their recent Chennai visit, around the time of Vasanta Navaratri. We are ardent devotees of Sri Mahaperiyavaa and Sri Kanchi Mutt. We are constantly following the videos on experiences with Mahaperiyavaa in youtube.
We have a request, we would like to seek the blessings of Smt & Sri Ramadurai Mama, who has been abundantly blessed by the holy grace of Sri Mahaperiyavaa. Can you.please provide their contact details, if you have
