The Peetarohana Jayanthi Mahotsavam of His Holiness Pujyashri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji was celebrated in Kanchipuram on 22 March 2014. It was on this day 60 years back in 1954 that His Holiness was initiated into sanyasa by Paramacharya Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati Mahaswamigal. I had a great opportunity to attend today’s chandramouleeswar puja by HH Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal Himself. At His age, Periyava sat for hours and did the puja while nearly 100 ritwiks were chanting Upanishads – amazing vibration! Obviously I could not take photos of the Chandramouleeswarar puja.
HH Bala Periyava was sitting and giving darshans for devotees. I took some pictures. Love those young vidhyarthis and their bhavyam to Periyava and Periyava’s attention to their chanting.
