இவர் பிள்ளையார் சதுர்த்தி, ஜன்மாஷ்டமி, ஸரஸ்வதி பூஜை, ராம நவமி எல்லா நாளிலும் என் படத்தை வைத்துத்தான் பூஜை செய்வார்.!

ஸ்ரீபெரியவாள் அவருடைய தெய்வீக சக்தியை நம்மிடமிருந்து மறைத்து விட்டார்கள்.அவதார ரஹஸ்யம் பலருக்கும் புரியாமல் தாந் இருந்தது. ஆனால் பெரியவாளின் சக்தியை ஒரு சிலர் உணர்ந்தே இருந்தார்கள்.இன்னும் இருந்து வருகிறார்கள்.

பெல்காம் அருகே ஹிரே பாக்வாடி என்ற ஊரில் சிதம்பர குல்கர்னி என்பவர் பெரியவாளிடம் அத்யந்த பக்தி கொண்டவர். வருடத்திற்கு ஒரு முறை அல்லது இரண்டு முறை காஞ்சிபுரம் வந்து குருசரிதம்(தத்தாத்ரேய ) சப்தாகமாக (ஏழு நாட்கள்) பாராயணம் செய்து விட்டுப் போவது வழக்கமாகக் கொண்டிருந்தார். 

ஒரு சமயம் அவர் குடும்பத்துடன் வந்து குருசரித்ரம் பாராயணம் செய்து வந்தார். அந்த சமயம் வேறு ஒரு பக்தரும் வந்தார். வந்தவர் பெரியவாளிடம் ”குரு சரிதம் ”பாராயணம் நடந்து வருகிறது என்றார். பெரியவா அவரிடம் ”எத்தனை தடவை பாராயணம் ஆயிருக்கு” என்று கேட்டார்.

”இதுவரை எழுபத்திரண்டு முறை பாராயணம் ஆயிருக்கு; எழுபத்து மூன்றாம் தடவை நடந்து வருகிறது”என்றார் வந்தவர்.

ஸ்ரீபெரியவாள் இவர் எந்த குரு சரிதம் பாராயணம் பண்றார் தெரியுமோ” என்றார் சீடரிடம்.

தெரியாது என்று பதில் வந்தது. பெரியவாள் உடனே ”சாம்பமூர்த்தி ஸ்வாமிகள் எழுதிய பெரியவா சரிதத்தைத்தான் (மஹாபெரியவாள்) இவர் பாராயணம் செய்து வருகிறார். இதுவரை எழுபத்திரண்டு தடவை பாராயணம் முடிந்து எழுபத்துமூன்றாம் தடவை நடக்கிறது,,என்று பெரியவா சொன்னார். மேலும் பிள்ளையார் சதுர்த்தி, ஜன்மாஷ்டமி, ஸரஸ்வதி பூஜை எல்லா நாளிலும் என் படத்துக்குத்தான் பூஜை செய்வார். இவருக்கு என்னைத்தவிர வேறு யாரும் தெய்வம் இல்லை ” என்றார் பெரியவா .

அந்த பக்தர் யார் என்று தெரிந்து கொள்ள ஆசைப்பட்டேன் ஆனால் அவர் தன் மாயையினால் அவர் பேர் ஊர் இவைகளைத் தெரிந்து கொள்ள முடியாமல் வேறு ஏதோ வேலை கொடுத்து அனுப்பி விட்டார்கள். அப்போதுதான் ப்ரதோஷம் வெங்கட்ராமையர் மாதிரி பல பக்தர்கள் இருந்தார்கள் என்பதைப் புரிந்து கொள்ள முடிந்தது.

Periyava always hid His divine prowess from all of us. The secret about His incarnation was not revealed to many. But a few did realize His power and are realizing it even now.

A person named Chidambar Kulkarni in Hire Bakwadi, near Belgaum was an ardent devotee of Periyava. It was a practice with him to come yearly once or twice to Kanchipuram and practice ParayaNam of Guru Charitam (Dattatreya) Saptaaham (one week) and go back.

Once he was in Kanchipuram with his family doing Guru Charitam ParayaNam. Then another devotee also came there. This devotee told Periyava that Guru Charitam ParayaNam was in progress. Then Periyava asked him, “ParayaNam has happened for how many times ?”

He said, “So far 72 ParayaNams have happened. The 73rd is in progress now”.

Periyava asked an attendant there, “Do you know which Guru Charitam ParayaNam he is doing ?”.

The response was that he did not know. Periyava then said, “He is doing ParayaNam of ‘Periyava Charitam’ written by Sambamurthy SwamigaL. So far 72 ParayaNams have happened and the 73rd was in progress. Moreover, he worships only My photo during Pillayar Chaturthi, Janmashtami, Saraswathi Pujai etc. In his view, there is no other God except Me”

I had a desire to find out who that devotee was. But by His Maya, He gave me some other assignment and sent me on my way without giving any information about his identity. It was only then that I realized that there are several devotees like Pradosham Venkatram Iyer.
