இனிமே பொய் சொல்லிண்டு இங்கே வராதே!

Periyavaa1

Sri Anjayaneya Mama is working in High Court have developed devotion for Periyava. His frequency of having darshan of Periyava has slowly increased. One Periyava has asked how is he getting the leaves for such frequent visits? Sri Anjaneya was quite open & said he gets medical certificate & get Sick Leaves easily. Periyava raised his face, looked at him & said…

Periyava has said, “இனிமே பொய் சொல்லிண்டு இங்கே வராதே!” (Don’t come here by telling lies!) Most of the times what Periyava says will be more like suggestive but people invariably take it as order. And sometimes what Periyava says is a stern order in tone & tenor. This time it was like that. What do he do? He is having a wife, a daughter and an ‘unquenchable’ thirst for Periyava. Anugraham of Periyava has no unparallel. So is the devotion of his Devotees! Sri Anjaneya Mama went back & just resigned his job! Resigned his job!
Darshan was continuing… It is stopped for a brief while because his wife was sick & his daughter is ‘nera maasam’ and Periyava is also in a far off unknown village in North India. It is a ‘chadhur masya’ time and his longing has become uncontrolled. Should I leave the wife who is seriously sick & the daughter who is about to deliver? Or go for Periyava’s darshan? He couldn’t decide but they can…

His wife who is sick & his daughter who is ‘nera maasam’ have told him for the darshan! Whether his devotion led to their decision or the karunya murthy’s blessings? Sri Mama has left the home & came to the Central Station without knowing where to go, typical of a Periyava devotee. Met a person with a Temple Prasad being taken to Periyava. Joined with him. He has said, “பெரியவா எப்படியும் அழைச்சிண்டு போவான்னு தெரியும். அந்த தைர்யத்துலதான் வந்தேன்” (“Periyava will take me along, I know. That’s the courage that brought me here…”)

On his return, both his daughter was doing well & his wife has become normal. Life moved on &his darshan went on… He had few stumbling blocks like short temper, hard words on the face of people etc. Periyava has removed one by one & eventually asked him to take sanyasa from the Upanishad Brahmendral Mutt. Sri Anjaneya mama has become Sri Anatha Anathendra Saraswati. (But he was always known as Sri Anjaneya Swamy in the mutt circle). He has attained siddhi long ago.

One day Sri Anjaneya didn’t come for Darshan. Sri Mahaperiyava went to his room to see he was unconscious. All realised that he was chocked and didn’t have any life symptoms. Sri Mahaperiyava went near him and put “theertham”  in his mouth and said that he wanted to get sanyaya. By this time telegraphic message was given to his family at Chennai and they also arrived by a car. All of a sudden Sri Anjaneya got up. When family members wanted to  take him back Sri Mahaperiyava told ” He should not go away from my view”.  Later he was given sanyaya.

Not only Sri Anjaneya Swamy almost every known devotee has the tendency to have faith in Periyava & step out towards their destination. Another example is Sri Ramadurai who ALWAYS take the offerings for Periyava, take a platform ticket & get inside the station. He has the faith that Periyava will send someone & every time for two years someone collected the offerings & reached Periyava.

What a faith they all had/ have! We pray to Periyava to reach our destinations (eventual as well as day-to-day) but for those devotees, Periyava is THE destination! Let their pada thooli remain in our head.
