ஒரு சமயம் மாத ஜெயந்தியாகிய அனுஷத்தன்று சேலத்தில் இருக்கும் திரு.ரவிச்சந்திரனின் பெற்றோர், தங்கள் மகனுக்கு திருமணம் நிச்சயம் செய்து புடவை, திருமாங்கல்யம் முதலிய மங்களப் பொருள்களுடன் பெரியவாளிடம் அனுக்ரஹம் பெற்றுச் செல்ல வந்தனர். வந்தவர்கள் நேராக ப்ரதோஷம் மாமா இல்லம் சென்று மாத ஜெயந்தி வைபவத்தில் கலந்து கொண்டு மகிழ்ந்தனர். இரவு 9 மணிக்குத்தான் ப்ரதோஷம் மாமாவிற்கு ரவியின் பெற்றோர் வந்த காரிய விவரம் தெரியவந்தது. இரவு நேரமாகி விட்டதால் அவர்கள் தயங்குவதை உணர்ந்த மாமா ‘பரவாயில்லை, உடனே ஸ்ரீமடம் சென்று, திருமாங்கல்யத்தை வைத்து அருள் பெறுங்கள். பெரியவாளின் அனுக்கிரஹம் கிடைக்கும்” என்று சொல்ல ரவியின் பெற்றோர் தயங்கியபடி ஸ்ரீமடம் வந்தனர்.
நேரம் ஆகிவிட்டபடியால் மடமே அமைதியாய் இருந்தது. அனைவரும் உறங்கி விட்டனர். செய்வதறியாது நின்ற ரவியின் பெற்றோரை திடீரென்று பாலு என்ற அன்பர் ‘என்ன பிள்ளைக்கு கல்யாணமா”? என்று விசாரித்து அவர்களை உள்ளே அழைத்துச் சென்று சயனத்திலிருந்த மஹா ப்ரபுவிடம் மெல்லிய குரலில் தகவல் சொன்னார். உடனே எழுந்த கருணாமூர்த்தி அவர்களை அழைத்து அருள் ஒழுக கடாட்சித்து திருமாங்கல்யத்தை வாங்கி மடியில் வைத்துக் கொண்டார். அந்த அகாலத்திலும் அதிசயமாய் ஸ்ரீ காமாட்சி அம்பாளின் குங்கும ப்ரசாதம் வர, அன்னையின் அருட் ப்ரசாதத்துடன் திருமாங்கல்யத்தை அருளி தன் பக்தர்களுக்கு அருளவே தான் எந்நேரமும் இருப்பதை உணர்த்தி, தன் அன்பர் வாக்கையும் காத்திடுவதே தனது கடமை என்று அருளினார்.

Once, on the ‘Maatha(monthly) Jayanthi’ day of Anusham, the parents of Ravichandran came to get the blessings of Maha Periyava. The marriage of their son had been solemnised and they brought with them the saree, ‘ThiruMangalyam’ and other auspicious things. The party went directly to Pradosham Mama’s house and participated happily in the ‘Maatha Jayanthi’ celebrations. It was only at 9PM at night that Pradosham Mama came to know why they had come. Sensing their hesitation due to the lateness of the hour, Pradosham mama said “It’s allright. You go, place the ‘ThiruMangalyam’ and get the blessings. You will get Periyava’s blessings.” Ravi’s parents came to SriMatham with hesitation.
Because it was late, all was quiet at the SriMatham. Everyone was asleep. When they were standing there without knowing what to do, an attendant named Balu came out suddenly and asked “So, your son’s marriage is coming ?” and escorted them inside. He softly conveyed the news to MahaPrabhu, who was asleep. That Karunamoorthy woke up, called them and blessed them heartfully. He took the ‘ThiruMangalyam’ and placed it on His lap. Even at that late hour, amazingly, as the Kumkum Prasadam from Kamakshi Ambal arrived, He blessed the ‘ThiruMangalyam’ along with Ambal’s Prasadam. He demonstrated that He was available at any time for His devotees. He also demostrated that keeping up His devotee’s assurance was His duty.
