Adi Shankara Jayanthi with 1008 lotus flowers

Sri Sankara Jayanthi Mahotsavam was celebrated at Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Sri Viswanatha Swamy Devasthanam, Vanjiyur, Karaikal on 4th.

Earlier they built a lotus pond within this place and used 1008 lotus flowers to do archana to adi acharya on the jayanthi day. It is a great delight to our eyes and mind..They have similar plans to do for upcoming Mahaperiyava Jayanthi…..

In fact he was telling me how other places can build a pond like this and use this…Our gurukkal mama says that flowers from our garden used for puja is the best as opposed to buying from outside.

Even if the flowers are not used for puja purposes, people from outside buy them from the temple…I know Govindapuram thapovanam also has a pond with beautiful flowers etc – thanks to Shri Subbini for this…

Thanks to Shri BGS for sharing these lovely photos….

  1. Shri Gurubhyo Namha! Sri. BGS and other Maha Periyava Devotees are doing great job at Vanjiyur Sri ViswanathaSwamy Devasthaanam! Pure Gomaya Vibhuthi is provided by them To Shivaalayams free of cost and to interested Devotees on payment of a small amount, which goes to maintain the Go Shala. Worshipping AmbaL and Bhagavan Adi Sankara with 1008 lotuses from temple pond is exceptional worship. Divine Blessings. Hara Hara Shankara, Jaya Jaya Shankara!

  2. Seriously, I am looking for a Mahaperiyava photo only with lotus flowers. I have been telling everyone to get the photo if they find across. I have surprised to see this blog now. Very much expecting to see the photo of Mahaperiyava Jayanthi from Vanjiyur.
