It is very unfortunate to share series of losses of great souls through this blog. Periyava community has lost three great devotees within days time.
I am sure you all remember Shri Vedamurthy mama from his interview. One of the finest interviews – most cheerful interview I had watched…Great person, great devotee. His contribution to Orikkai Manimantapam is immeasurable.
When I was in Chennai I came to know that his health was deteriorating but the sad news came just now. Our condolences to the bereaved family members. Let his soul rest at Periyava’s feet.
Here is his interview:

Vedapuri mama is different from Vedamurthi mama? Please let me be clarified. Thanks. Anyway deep regrets on Vedamurthi mama’ s demise.
But this news was published in 2014.
Vedamurthy worked in LIC and was an ardent devotee of Mahaperiyavaa and Pradosham Mama.
Vedapuri Mama, on the other hand was the personal attendant of Mahaperiyava for decades.
Yes. The loss of Shri. Vedamurthy mama is very unfortunate.

We have lost a great Periva devotee. May His soul rest in peace.
Its indeed a great loss for our fraternity.
I have known him since 1986 when we worked together at Pondicherry,
It was Sri Vedamurthy who introduced me to Brahmasri Pradosham Mama.
Despite his heart surgery, he was staying alone at Pondicherry when his family was at Chennai.
He told that when he met Sri Maha Periavaa after his heart surgery, Maha Periavaa asked him to chant the Vishnu Sahasranama everyday and that too as loudly as possible.
Sri Vedamurthy mama used to say that was the medicine prescribed by Maha Periavaa for his ailment and it stood in good stead throughout his life.
Hara Hara Shankara.
I am sure our MahaPeriyava has taken him back to his world in the period of ” Sankara Jayanthi Time ” to the abode of Lord Sampa Parameswara with Loka Matha Tripurasundhari” Hara Hara Sankara…Jaya Jaya Sankara Kanchi Sankara Kamakoti Sankara…Kalady Sankara Kanchi Sankara.. Maha Periyava Charanaravindhame Thunai.
Mr Mahesh, Can you please organise for an interview with Brammasri Vedapuri Maama? I heard he was with Mahaperiyava from the age of 8.
