Viswa Shanthi Yegnams by Sri Kanchi Matam

Two_Periyavas

I would like to bring out an important update on a key initiative from Sri Kanchi Matam. Sri Bala Periyava & Sri Pudu periyava has taken initiative for the past 14 yrs to do viswa shanthi yagyam to protect the border of Bharath. The latest one was done at Arunachala Pradesh – this is the 9 of its kind. For each of these events 50 vaideega came from 8 shakas to do Veda parayanam 50 loukikaas for Sri Rudraabishekam. These are ganapadigals, mamas, thathas with an average of 70+ years who travel to all these remote places There are no words to describe the difficulty in reaching these remote places – 12 hours by train; 12 hours on an absolute bad gravel road and tough mountainous region. I heard from Shivaraman that there were not even any basic infrastructure for these folks to stay. No milk, no proper place to sleep, not proper food….In spite of all these problems, not one person complained about anything.  That is what is called guru-bakthi. Just because that our acharyas have asked them to go, they went – no questions asked, no comforts demanded. HH Bala Periyava has a special interest in supporting North-eastern India. Folks who have interacted with Him would know this…

Kanchi Matam spends lot of money to conduct such events in these places purely for the loka kshemam.  Our Periyavas strongly believe that our vedas will protect our land from hostile neighbors, which makes them to undertake such a himalayan task of conducting these events.  This reminds me of Periyavas padha yatra to Satara – He had no reason to walk except for His karunyam to all people living in those states. He went there only to bless them – nothing else. He could have very well stayed in Thenambakkam at His old age. Same applies here… Our matam also could have done what others do by conducting homams / chaturmasyam / pravachanams in a good rich metropolitan cities, where people come and donate generously. However, we chose differently – purely to help/bless the people, this land. There is no other peetam that is truly dedicated to welfare of this world than Sri Kanchi Matam.

Our pranams to HH Pudhu and Bala Periyavas for their untiring effort under the guidance of Periyava.  I will post some video clippings from these events soon.

Thanks to Shivaraman, as always, for narrating me about these events….

    Very well said!!!

  2. Well articulated. It is true that HH Periyava and HH Bala Periva, in line with the mandate of HH Paramacharya and Sri Sankara Bhagavathpadal have been doing yeoman service for decades, with less pomp and show. They as Matadhipadhis focus on the karyam and not the publicity that it can bring to the Mutt.
If well meaning people- with concern for our great nation – join together to protect the heritage and border of motherland without distraction, we are going to have a great future for our Country. Incidentally such people will get the blessings of the Mutt.

  3. Only Sri PudhuPeriyava’s long term vision and avyaaja karunai for the entire world can make such unimaginable feats seem “easily attained.”

  4. Sri Periyavaa’s northeast trip covered in this video.
Sri Periyavaa giving confidence to soldiers also covered.

  5. Comparison of events doesn’t suit at this level of understandings, I feel. Even the Saints won’t prefer it.

  6. Really great info,
I recently seen the info on kamakoti.org site.
Not only in northeast, Sri Nadu periyava did Sindhu nadhi puja in northern frontiers too.
For me he is a pratyaksha Ramanujacharya, who is concerned for the welfare of harijans too.
Sri Periyavaa have rebuilt Kashmir Sri Saraswathi peetam in Rambaan in Dravidian style.
Swamiji had kept the flag of Hinduism high..what better gift to bharat Mata and Tamil annai could be there than this priveledge of having got Sri Mahasaraswathi temple in Dravidian style.
    Seeking grace of Mahaswamy,

    Thanks and regards,
    P. Vijay

  7. Great service by sri Matham and the Vedic Scholars. Can devotees contribute to meet the costs of these Yagnaas? Maha Periyava and Sri Periyava used to get Sri Hanuman Chaliisa printed in thousands and distribute to our Defence Personnel for PaaraayaNam and Rakshai. Jaya Jaya Shankara, Hara Hara Shankara!

  8. No Wonder it’s called the Sarvagnya Peetam

Jaya Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara !

  9. Jaya Jaya Sankara. Hara Hara Sankara. Eagerly waiting to see Video clippings
