Following are the details of honors given by Dikshithars in Chidambaram Natarajar Kovil to Mahaperiyava when He visited in 1954. Even the Tamil itself is lot different than today!!! Very interesting to read….I am not sure if the photo below relates to this article. However, I do have another photo of Him at Chidambaram kovil – it is in my iPad..I will post it soon…

  1. Very nice to read! Maha Periyava’s photo with Kunjithapadam on His Head is a Picture of medicinal value. Has been shown elsewhere in this blog. The Tamil used in this reception Pathrikai is certainly different from what is in usage today! Sri PeriyavaL is addressed as SriyavaL! Jaya Jaya Shankara, Hara Hara Shankara!

    • I remember having read ‘divya charitam’ of Shri Mahaperiyava giving details of His visits to various places,in which it was beautifully explained about His Chidambaram visit and honour rendered by the Deekshidars.

  2. The letter of the Deekshitar AVL to our Sri Mutt is a real treasure. This letter is about 60 years old. This is a very good record. Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara Kanchi Sankara Kamakoti Sankara Kalady Sankara Kamakoti sankara.

  3. Sir, I have a book “Divya Darshan of Sri Kanchi Mahaswami” containing more than 550 photographs of Mahaperiyava from His childhood till Kanakabhishekam. If you can share your address, I will send a copy of the book to you. You can go through the same and spread the message about the book among the followers. Thanks

  4. MahaPeriyva — Very Glad to be with You everyday — Knowing something about You — I know everytime I think about You — You always come — by some means — these days You come electronically — MahaPeriyava Padham Saranam — Let me NOT stop thinking about You (MahaRaj)
