My 1000th post – About a critical (Nochiyam) project

I just realized that this is my 1000th post.  As always, the number does not mean much – as long as these posts have impacted all of us in some way.

Incidentally, this post is of an important project that is happening in Nochiyam, Trichy. I already posted about this project and mami, who goes by a slogan “Periyava Paathuppa”. Literally that is how she started this Mahaswami Thapovanam – a dedicated temple for Goddess Raja Rajeswari and Mahaperiyava on the banks of Cauvery. I see similarity between Sri Pradosham mama and this mami in this one factor. I have been talking to Nochiyam whenever I find time….They keep me posted on the developments. The project has come up well – thanks to several great donors. Even from the blog some of you have contributed in the past.

Now the project is getting into the last stage of completion. Mami wants to do kumbabishekam by Mar/April. They are really in need of funds to complete this. Hindu has once again given some coverage to assist fund-raising…. I also got lots of photos from them…

Here are the links to them…..

Please contribute, however small it may be, to be part of a great initiative.

Sri Lalitha Maha Tripurasundari temple is shaping up at Shanti Ashram on the banks of the Noyyal, Nochiam, Tiruchi. Shrines for Paramacharya, Dakshinamurti, Vinayaka, Subramanya and Veda Vyasa have reached the lintel level.

“Funds are steadily flowing in and work is progressing at a brisk pace,” says septuagenarian Rajalakshmi Vittal, who thanks all the devotees of Paramacharya, spread across the globe, for their contribution. “Construction has reached a crucial phase and with more funds the shrines can be completed and Mahakumbabishekam performed,” observes Smt. Rajalakshmi.

Samrajaya Pattabishekam of Sri Lalitha Parameswari (Raja Mathangi) is her ultimate aim.

It was two years ago that she started the project, which includes a Veda Pata Sala, gosala and residents for senior citizens as a monument to Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati she worships. Articles in this supplement have helped her generate money for her dream complex.

  3. It is our faith in the Kamakoti Peetam and Acharyal Lead us to this date. What ever we gained in this world is only because of His blessings.2004 incident is truly affected so many persons but there faith in the Mutt and Acharyal never shrink or sink. The only mantra should be in our mind should be only Acharyal and Kanchi Kama Koti Mutt. “We should live properly and uphold the great heritage of the mutt always. This is what my father told me in the year 2004” He died in the year on 12th March 2011 at the age of 94 remembering our Great Acharyal Chandrasekerendra sarasvathi Swamigal and Ramana Maharshigl. The incident is still green in our memory…Periyava Thiruvadigale Saranam saranam.

  4. How nice it would be if all such Mahaperiyavaa projects are also integrated with the Kanchi Mutt’s activities. Unfortunately after the Nov 2004 incidents many devotees of Mahaperiyavaa have delinked themselves from the Mutt but continue to work on such projects of Sri Mahaperiyavaa. It would be so good if these devotees pursue such Projects after obtaining blessings from Sri Pudhu Periyavaa also and declare their affiliation to Kanchi mutt also

    • regardless of the 2004 incident, no project is executed without the blessings of HH Pudhu/Bala Periyava.

      • Dear Sri Mahesh,
Just to clarify I am not referring to projects undertaken by disciples like yourself. There are many other devotees of Sri Mahaperiyava who are pursuing projects like conducting events, constructing temples, releasing books etc related to Sri Mahaperiyava. However many of them have disassociated themselves from the present Acharyas. They do not obtain Srimukham nor they acknowledge the blessings of the present Acharyas of the Kanchi Mutt.

  5. Dear Mahesh, Your contribution to this community is matchless and countless. Thanks and congrats for your works. Congrats to mami for her magnificent project. I will definitely contribute to this project and visit the temple when I go there. I want a piece of information. You have given bank account numbers – are they in the name of the trust or somebody else;s name. Please clarify and give the names of the accounts also.
    Thanks and regards
