Read this incident in facebook page. This happened to Smt Sucharithra Raghunathan. After reading this, I am speechless. How blesses is she?!
My Mother had a cardiac problem, and doctors said she should undergo a by-pass and if need be, an open heart as well. I was puzzled, as to how to go about it. I was praying periva, “periva, idhai pannalaam na utharavu thaangho” repeatedly.
Thinking this in mind, went to a shop in madipakkam to get vastra for pillayar. I always go there to get all vasthra for all temples. After getting the clothes, I accidentally saw the cash counter, there was a pancha logha periva vigraham… ( I have been there so many times, but it had never been to my eyes till then).
I asked the owner, if he can get a similar one if I pay. He looked at me for a while and in tears he said that he has one more of this vigraham meant for another person. But, he had a dream yesterday night in which periva said, “I know you have this for one person.. But tomorrow, give this to anyone who comes to buy pillayar vasthra and asks for this vigraha”.
Periva came to my home and is sitting right in the house . Should I even say, that the surgery was successful and my amma is fine now? she may get discharged this week. Periva, Apara Karuna sindhum…………

To a person with Advaitic realisation life is just as good as the dream that you see in your sleeping state – This is what Periyava has said not me! Mahaperiyavaa’s has been and continues to be a demonstration of this Vedantic Truth. This incident that Srimathi Sucharitra Ragunathan was fortunate to personally enjoy and relate to us is another reiteration of the pinncale Periyava has scaled in the Human evolutionary ladder where the last is that of a Gnani (Source – Sivan Sir’s Ennipadigalil Manthargal).
Incidentally had a chance to be there in the Jayanthi of Sri Sivan Sir at RK Mission School, Chennai yesterday i.e. 30th September 2013, where a reading of the passage on “Athma” was in Ennipadigalil Manthargal was organised. So apt it is to this incident!!
I bow down to Madhu Sri Mahalakshmi Ammal and Sriman Subramania Sastrigal for bringing to this world divine incarnations of such exalted state that we will perhaps never come across in flesh and blood in this Kali that has progressed to all nook and corners, unless we have an atavistic throwback to the noble Brahminic way of life.
