What an outstanding work of Shri Naragarajan- Wow!!! Here is his note::
“I hail from the village Tediyur and my grand father Sri. Vanchi Iyer (known as Tediyur Thaathaa), stayed with PeriyavaaL for about 7-8 years and traveled with Him wherever He goes.
I would like to share a few of my Tamil poetry attempts with you. One of my goals is to write, in whatever simple and humble way, about PeriyavaaL. Like Thiruvaasakam, Thirumanthiram, ThiruppaLLi ezhucchi, etc. I am trying to do with “guru” prefix instead of “thiru”. With His anugraham, even a normal guy like me is able to compose Tamil poetry and I feel the utmost saanthi when I do this work.”
How true that one gets peace when doing any work related to Periyava…..I totally second that statement…Let Periyava give you all energy and blessings to take you other projects as you mentioned.
திருவிருக்குக் குறள் என்பது இரண்டு அடிகளால் வரும் பாடல். இருக்கு வேதம் போல் இவை வருவதால், ஓதுவதற்கு இவை மிகவும் உகந்தவை. குரு மேல் இயற்றப் பட்டதால் இதற்குக் குருவிருக்குக் குறள் என்று பெயர் சூட்டப் பட்டுள்ளது.
தூய சற்குரு தாள் பணிந்திடின்
தீய வினையெலாம் தூர விலகுமே. (1)
நாபி மாமலர் சேர்க்கும் மாலயன்
ஆதி குருவழி வாழ்த்தி வாழ்வமே. (2)
(குரு பரம்பரை ஸ்லோகம் என்பது நாராயணம் பத்ம புவம் என்று தொடங்கும்.)
நான்கும் ஓதியே யாகம் வேட்டலின்
காஞ்சி தேசிகர் கால்சி றந்ததே. (3)
ஈசன் ஏந்திடும் சூலம் தன்னிலும்
தேசி கர்கரத் தண்டம் வல்லதே. (4)
(சூலத்தின் வலிமையை விட தண்டம் வலிமை உள்ளது.)
பெரிய வாள்தரும் நீறு பூசினால்
துரித மாய்நம தூறு தீருமே. (5)
(பெரியவாள் என்பது அன்பையும் பக்தியையும் வெளிப்படுத்தும் மரியாதைப் பெயர்.)
எல்லை இல்லதோர் இன்பம் எய்தவே
வல்ல குருபதம் உள்ள வேண்டுமே. (6)
வித்தை கற்றிடப் பத்தி வேண்டுமே
பத்தி வேண்டியே சுற்றி வருவமே. (7)
(நமக்குப் பக்தி வருவதற்கே குருவை நாம் சுற்றி வர வேண்டும்.)
அங்கம் ஆறுமே சொந்த மாகுமே
சங்க ராவெனச் சொன்ன போதிலே. (8)
பீட வாஸரின் சீட ரானபின்
வீடு வேண்டுமோ ஏவல் போதுமே.. (9)
(காம கோடி பீட வாஸர் என்று இங்கே பொருள் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.)
சேம முற்றுநாம் சேர்ந்து வாழ்ந்திடக்
காம கோடியின் காலில் வீழ்வமே. (10)
(சேமம் – க்ஷேமம்.)
* வாசி தீரவே காசு நல்குவீர் என்று தொடங்கும் திருவீழி மிழலைப் பாடலின்
தாக்கத்தால் இப்பாடல் புனைய அடியேன் முற்பட்டேன்.

I remember , it is Thethiyur Subramanya Sastrigal , a great scholar. Have read his articles , in Kamakoti Padeepam [ from Kanchi SriMadam years back. If I am correct he carried title as “Sastra Ratnakaram”

Excellent work. I knew your grandfather very well. There were 2 Vanchi mamas devoted to Sri. Mahaperiyava. One was your grandfather and another was from Mudikondan.

Sir, I am addressing this to the “Peran” of ‘Thethiyur Thatha”, who, it is seen had been with Periyava for about 8 years, moving with Him wherever He went. I shall be glad to know, if the Peran” also followed his “Thatha”s footsteps and had worked for the Periyava’s kanchi Mutt, keeping in his mind ONLY the memory of his own “Thatha”‘s seva to Sri Periyava. The “Peran” ‘s words will then be meaningful. I have no doubt that this “Peran” is doing precisely the same at present. I bless this “Peran” with all my heart. Regards. Very Nice attempt, sorry blessings. With HIS blessings only this is posble. this song can be sung in harivaraasanam mettu. (I used to sing vaasi theerave everyday like that only). Be posting lot more songs(which means a lot!)
