Vyasa Puja @Kanchi Matam

(Picture taken on a previous Vyasa Puja by our gurus @Tirupathi)

Mahaperiyava has talked a lot about Vyasa Bagawan – here is the quote from Deivathin Kural. Vysa puja is one of the most important puja our matam conducts regularly. I heard/read somewhere that the order of a peetam is measured by number of vyasa puja it performs etc (I could be wrong!). Sadly, at home we do not do much on Vyasa puja. We should do our prayer to Vysa baghawan on this day.

Vyasa Puja will be performed by HH Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal and HH Sri Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal on Monday, 22nd July 2013 at Kanchi Mutt Premises in Kanchipuram.

Sri Kamakshi Seva Samithi will organise food for all the devotees on the following days:

–          21st Sunday Afternoon Meals

–          21st Sunday Evening Meals (Palagaram)

–          22nd Monday Afternoon Lunch

–          22nd Monday Evening Meals (Palagaram)

–          23rd Tuesday Afternoon Lunch

Our Samithi  has organised a Chief Cook and his assistants (15 in all)   for all the 3 days. Our volunteers will purchase  all the items required from the market. Volunteers will also supervise the kitchen and the Dining hall  and ensure the Deed is done successfully to the satisfaction of all devotees visiting Kanchipuram.

We also plan to distribute food to the Poor on 22nd afternoon.

Request you to participate in the Vyasa Puja and obtain  the blessings of our Acharyas.

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara

  1. Great information. Let us all remember Veda Vyasa Bhagavan, Adi Sankara BhagadpaadhaaL and the Guru Parampara Mahans. Jaya Jaya Shankara, Hara Hara Shankara!

  2. As I recollect the seniority of the Sannyasin is determined by the number of Vyasa Pujas he has completed. Thus a young Sannyasin who has completed more Vyasa Pujas than an elderly one ranks senior and the senior in age can do namaskaram to the younger one. I am liable to be corrected.
