I was blessed to participate in Maharudram event in Detroit over the past weekend. It was such an amazing event, extremely well planned, conducted in a very grand manner…12 vaidheekas were driving the event while 140+ chanted Sri Rudram under one roof – great vibration….In the evening we had Krama archanai – outstanding one….Rudra Homam was great the next day – unfortunately I did not capture photo/video of that 🙁
As a highlight, we were blessed to have Mahaperiyava padhukas there and we received prasadams from Sri Matam for this event. Sarvam Periyava mayam!
Although we can’t compare ourselves with the events in India, here all efforts are made to the best extent possible to set and meet a specific standards…

Thanks a lot for the video as It made me experience the event once again at home. It was nice to have met you there. Nevertheless to mention here that my husband had a dream on that Saturday night that Bala Periyaval was sitting there and gracing the event. When he shared this dream we really got overwhelmed.

There is one coming on June 1st and 2nd at http://www.svbf.org – I intend to attend that too…..About 2 miles from this temple is Swami Dayanadha Saraswathi Swamigal’s gurukulam is located. I have already written about this place earlier.

Mahesh, I second to what you have experenced. This is my first Maha Rudra and I am very glad I had grabbed this opportunity. I am still feeling the vibrations. Last night I was dreaming about rudram. I am feeling very lucky and happy that I got chance to sit along with all ritwiks and ganapati’s. OM NAMA SHIVAYAA!!

no problem…i dont get noticed normally 🙂 However, if you recall a tall guy with a beard with a 10-year old boy with him, that was me! you may see me in the video for few seconds, when my son shot…..in fact my son also attended the first day and chanted. this is his 3rd maharudram to participate…..
