Anga Pradakshanam

It brings me tears when I see this photo and some details about Sri Pradosham Mama’s practices. It is humanly not possible to do what mama did all his life. This is not something that happened once or twice. The book tells that mama does this every time he sees Periyava. He would do it even if there is a puddle, hard roads etc. The best part is, He would wait till he completes them!

Some excerpts from the book:: Mama calls himself as “Meela Adimai” – adimai means slave; meela adimai is one who is at a point where he can’t detach himself from the master – hope my translation reads ok! Wherever you see “adimai”, it is referred to mama.

  1. THIS IS REAL BHAKTI, THANKS FOR PUBLISHING PHOTO OF PRODOSHAM MAMA , A GREAT SOUL

MAHA PERIYAVAL IS GUIDING ALL OF US, HE KNOWS THE REAL GOOD THINGS FOR US

  2. I am seeing for the first time the photograph of Pradosham Mama. All the more thrilling to see him doing Anga PradhikshiNam around Maha SwamigaL. Even Maha SwamigaL appears to be overwhelmed at the devotion. Great! Thanks Sri. Mahesh for sharing.

  3. My respects to all seekers. I am practicing a path called ‘Sahaja-yoga’. On earlier years I had the privilege of having darshan of Mahaperiyava on few occasion in Kanchi Kshetram. Apart from doing Sandhyavandanam and reciting few shlokas and veidc mantras, I do not do any outward anushtanam . I practice my Sahaja-yoga sampradayam.

The beauty is yesterday I had the sudden urge of doing anga-pradakshinam and today am reading the above article. Vaishnavas used to say namaskaram as ‘dandam idudhal’. Mahaperiyava once told dandam means stick. We have to fall down like a stick in front of the Mahatmas. So rolling by the way of angapradakshinam is also one way of dandam iduthal. Nice to read this article. Thanks.

  4. A wonderful book on Mama by Akila Karthikeyan. ‘Thanthathu un thannai, Kondathu en thannai’…

  5. Shankara. What a compassionate, poignant photograph. Never seen anything like it.
