The last (12th) Atirudram and Sahasra Chandi Homam in the series is being conducted right in Sri Kanchipuram in May to mark the Jayanthi of Sri Maha Periyava. I had an opportunity to spend almost a day with Sri Guru Moorthy (one of the coordinators) when he also participated in Soma Yagam in Sirugumani Patashala. Sri Guru Moorthy, ex-GM, BHEL, has shown to the rest of the world how to transition from a “highly successful” loukeekam way of life to Vedhic margam as kindly expounded by Sri Maha Periyava. A swayambhaagi, he also does Maha Abhishekam to Sri Maha Periyava’s Holy Padhukas during the entire proceedings of Athi Rudram. In the photo, he is in the far right….

ATIRUDRAM/SAHASRACHANDI YEGNAM AT KANCHIPURAM
Personification of Guru Gita verse above was seen and felt in the Seer SRI CHANDRASEKAREDRA SARASWATHY SWAMIGAL – 68th Pontiff in the order of Moolamnaya Pitam Sri Kanchi Mutt.
The JAGADGURU was adored and revered as MAHASWAMIGAL, DAKSHINAMURTHY RUPAA, ADVAITA SWARUPAA, SANATHANA DHARMA RAKSHAKAA, VEDHOKTA DASAA, KARUNA MURTHY, SARVAGNA MURTHY. He Graced every devotee in the form in which each one looked upon Him.
As in the past, neary 225 eminent Vedic Rithviks would participate and be present at the venue during the conduct of Yegnam. Apart from Rudra/Chandi Japam, Chatur Vedaparayanam would also take place. Uniqueness of our sanathana dharma is to pray for the welfare of entire universe. In keeping with this, Yegnam is being conducted for universal peace and welfare. Devotees from all over are requested to wholeheartedly participate in this noble cause in any manner and means they deem fit. Daily programme is attached. Respectful pranams.
