ராமேஸ்வரத்துக்கு அருகில் உள்ள உத்திரகோசமங்கை ஸ்ரீமங்களநாதர் கோயிலுக்குச் சென்றபோது, அங்கு அன்பர் ஒருவரை சந்தித்தேன். அப்போது தன்னுடைய தந்தைக்கு, காஞ்சிப் பெரியவர் அருளிய… நெகிழ வைக்கும் சம்பவத்தைப் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டார்.
அன்பரின் தந்தை, சென்னை நீதிமன்றத்தில் கிளார்க்காகப் பணிபுரிந்து வந்தவர். அப்போது காஞ்சிப் பெரியவர், சென்னை நகரில் முகாமிட்டு பக்தர்களுக்கு ஆசி வழங்கி வந்தார். இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் அன்பரின் தந்தையும் பங்கேற்று சேவை புரிந்தாராம். அன்பரின் தந்தை ஓடியாடி உழைத்த விதத்தை காஞ்சி பெரியவாள் நேரில் கண்டார்.
முகாம் நிறைவுறும் நாள் வந்தது. அன்றைய தினம், அன்பரின் தந்தையைக் கரிசனத்துடன் அழைத்த பெரியவாள், ”எங்கே வேலை பாக்கறே?” என்று கேட்டிருக்கிறார்.
”கோர்ட்ல கிளார்க்கா வேலை பாத்துண்டி ருக்கேன்” என்று பவ்யமாக பதில் அளித்தாராம் அன்பரின் தந்தை.
உடனே பெரியவாள், ”இதுக்கு மேல என்ன பதவி இருக்கு?” என்று கேட்க… ”ஷெராஸ்தார்” என்று பதிலளித்திருக்கிறார் இவர்.
இதையடுத்து பெரியவாள், ”நீ ஷெராஸ்தார் ஆயிடுவே” என்று ஆசீர்வதித்திருக்கிறார்.
சாதாரண கிளார்க் உத்தியோகத்தில் இருந்து ஷெராஸ்தார் பொறுப்புக்கு வருவதற்குக் கல்வி உள்ளிட்ட தகுதிகள் அவசியம். ஆனால் இந்த அன்பரின் தந்தைக்குக் கல்வித் தகுதி மட்டும் இல்லை. எனவே, ‘இந்தப் பதவி சாத்தியமே இல்லை’ என்று தீர்மானித்து, காஞ்சிப் பெரியவாளின் ஆசியை அடுத்த கணத்தில் இருந்து மறந்தே போனார்.
இதையடுத்து ஒரு சில நாட்களில் டெல்லியில் இருந்து தலைமை நீதிபதி சென்னைக்கு வந்துள்ளார். அவருக்குத் தேவையான பணிவிடைகளை சிறப்பாகச் செய்து கொடுத்தாராம் அன்பரின் தந்தை.
சில நாட்கள் கழித்து, வேலை முடிந்து தலைமை நீதிபதி டெல்லிக்குக் கிளம்பிச் செல்லும்போது, நீதிமன்ற அலுவலகக் குறிப்பேட்டில், ‘இந்த கிளார்க்கின் பணி பாராட்டுக்குரியது. அடுத்த பதவி உயர்வுக்கு தகுதி வாய்ந்தவர் இவர்’ என்று பரிந்துரை செய்திருந்தாராம்!
பிறகென்ன? உரிய நேரத்தில் அந்தப் பரிந்துரை உயரதிகாரிகளால் கவனிக்கப்பட்டு, அன்பரின் தந்தைக்கு ஷெராஸ்தார் எனும் பதவி உயர்வு கிடைத்ததாம்.
சில வருடங்களுக்குப் பின், காஞ்சிப் பெரியவர் மீண்டும் சென்னை வர… அன்பரின் தந்தை அந்த முகாமுக்குச் சென்று பெரியவாளை தரிசித்து வணங்கியிருக்கிறார்.
”என்ன… ஷெராஸ்தாரர் ஆயாச்சா?” என்று மெள்ள புன்னகைத்தபடியே பெரியவாள் கேட்டதும், அந்த நடமாடும் தெய்வத்தின் தீர்க்க தரிசனத்தை எண்ணி வியந்து போனாராம் அன்பரின் தந்தை!

English translation
I met a person at the Uthiragosamangai Shri Mangalanathar temple when I had gone to Rameshwaram. Then, he shared a touching incident where this person’s father was blessed by MahaPeriyava.
His father was a clerk in the Chennai high court. Then MahaPeriyava was camping in Madras and was giving Darshan to devotees. Apparently his father also participated in this event and rendered voluntary service. Kanchi Periyava noticed his father doing service diligently at the camp.
The last day of the camp came. That day, Periyava called him and addressed him affectionately, “Where do you work?”
“I work as a clerk in court”, he answered humbly
“What is the next higher post?”
“Sherasdar”, he replied
Periyava blessed him, “You will become Sherasdar”
To get promoted to Sherasdar from a clerk, there are educational qualifications that are mandatory. His father did not have those educational qualifications. Since it wasn’t possible to become a Sherasdar, he totally forgot about MahaPeriyava’s words.
In a few days after this incident, the chief justice had come to Chennai from Delhi. Apparently, his father did all his duties well and assisted the chief justice.
After a few days, before the chief justice went back to Delhi, he put in a few good words for him in the office register and recommended his promotion.
Needless to say, in due course of time, this recommendation came to the attention of his superior officers and he got a promotion.
After a few years, when Periyava came to Chennai again, his father had gone to the camp and bowed down in front of Him.
“So, have you become a Sherasdar?”, smiled Periyava. His father was simply stunned by Periyava’s Deergha Darshanam
