There are a few posts already in this blog about the efficacy of Sri Sivasahasranama Stotra -as in Lingapurana. Also there is an interview of H.H. Swami Shantananda Puri Swamiji ( published here earlier) about the context of this great Siva Sahasranama. Sri Mahaperiyava has advised chanting of this stotra for universal harmony. I found the below audio quite clear and easy to follow [thanks to Geethanjali -Music and Chants]. Also thanks to Veda Dharma Shastra Paripalana Sabha for publishing the Shasranama in various Lipis. As the society, especially the Hindu community is bearing the brunt of physical and verbal attacks, it will be imperative to listen, learn and chant this Stotra, which will bring harmony and unity from Family level upto Universal level.

பகவந்நாமாவை ஜபிப்பது நமது பாபங்கள், இடையூறுகள் மற்றும் இன்னல்களை விலக்கி ஆரோக்யத்தையும் லௌகிக ஆன்மீக ஶ்ரேயஸ்ஸுகளையும் அடைய உயர்ந்த வழியாக கருதப்படுகிறது, முக்கியமாக கலியுகத்தில். அத்தகைய நாம ஜபத்தில் ஸஹஸ்ரநாமங்கள் என்பதற்கு ஒரு சிறப்பான ஸ்தானம் உள்ளது. நிதானித்து பகவானின் பல குணங்களில் ஈடுபடவும் லக்ஷார்ச்சனை கோடி அர்ச்சனை முதலியவற்றுக்கும் கூட இவை வழிகோலுகின்றன.
பகவான் சிவனுக்கு பல ஸஹஸ்ரநாமங்கள் உள்ளன. இவற்றுள், பகவான் விஷ்ணு அவரை ஆயிரம் தாமரைகளால் அர்ச்சிக்க பயன்படுத்திய ஸஹஸ்ரநாமமானது லிங்க புராணம் பூர்வ பாகம் 98வது அத்யாயத்தில் உள்ளது.
நமது ஶ்ரீ காஞ்சீ காமகோடி மூலாம்நாய ஸர்வஜ்ஞ பீடாதிபதி ஶ்ரீ சந்த்ரஶேகரேந்த்ர ஸரஸ்வதீ ஶங்கராசார்ய ஸ்வாமிகள் ஹரி-ஹர ஒற்றுமையைக் குறிக்கும் இந்த ஸஹஸ்ரநாமத்தை ஓதுவதால், ஸமுதாயத்தின் பல நிலைகளில் காணப்படும் ஒற்றுமையின்மை விலகி மக்கள் ஸந்தோஷமாக வாழ்ந்து உயர்ந்த லக்ஷ்யங்களை நோக்கி உழைக்க முடியும் என்று அருளியுள்ளார்.
மஹாசிவராத்ரியன்றோ, மற்ற சிவ பூஜைகளிலோ, பக்தர்கள் விருப்பத்தின்படியோ பாராயணம்/அர்ச்சனை செய்ய இந்த ஸஹஸ்ரநாம ஸ்தோத்ரம் நாமாவளியுடன் பல லிபிகளில் வெளியிடப்படுகிறது.
Chanting Bhagavan Nama is considered an important way to rid our sins, difficulties and sufferings and obtain health and prosperity both of material and spiritual kind, especially in the Kali Yuga. Sahasranama-s have a special role in such nama japa. They pave the way for unhurriedly meditating on the many qualities of Bhagavan and also doing laksha archana, koti archana etc.
There are many Sahasranama-s of Bhagavan Shiva. Of these, the Linga Purana Purva Bhaga 98th Adhyaya contains the Sahasranama which Bhagavan Vishnu used to worship Him by a thousand lotuses.

This Sahasranama Stotram with Namavali is released in multiple scripts for parayana/archana on Maha Shivaratri, other Shiva puja-s, or as per the wishes of devotees.
