As good luck would have it, this Thanksgiving week holidays were spent on listening to the Tamil discourses by So So Meenakshisundaram Ayya, on the glorious life histories of Mahans, especially Thiruppugazh Vallimalai Swamigal, which I believe is not a mere coincidence, but Lord Muruga’s grace only. I feel his discourses touch one’s heart. Certain days / dates he mentioned in his discourse were the actual days the discourses were listened; such as Karthigai Moolam (auspicious for Lord Muruga), Nov-20, Nov -22, Karthigai Shukla Trayodasi – etc. They are the English Birth date, Samadhi date, Samadhi Thithi of Sri Vallimalai Satchidananda Swamigal respectively. His Aaradhana is coming up on Karthigai Shukla Trayodasi [Dec 02, 2025]. Listening to the Divya Charithrams of such Mahans, strengthens our faith in our Gurus, Deities and leaves us with astonishment. Lord Muruga is very active in the earth plane and we should seek His blessings.
Initially I thought of transcribing Sri So So Mee’s discourse, but Sri Vallimalai Swamigal’s life history is well documented in the public domain, so I leave it to the readers to make an effort to search and learn about this great Mahan’s life history.
Sri Bharanidaran, in his ARUNACHALA MAHIMAI, which is a ‘must-read’ book in Tamil – beautifully narrates the life history of Vallimalai Swamigal. Let some Bhagyavaans [Lucky people] read this riveting narration.
