Sri Ekambaranathar Golden Chariot Inauguration – Dec 4, 5, 6 and 8

Namaskaram All,

Around 12 years back, Kanchipuram Sri Ekambaranathar devotees along with temple management requested Sri HH Pudhu Periyava to provide a golden chariot for this ancient temple. Sri HH Pudhu Periyava initiated this project but this could not be completed with HH attaining siddhi and the work was stalled mid-way. Couple of years back, HH Bala Periyava asked Smt. Mahalakshmi Mami to help complete this project. HH asked her to work with Orikkai Mani Mama who had taken a lead on this project along with Ekambaranathar Iraipani Arakattalai trustees, the work was completed successfully. In this project, the work of Orikkai Mani Mama was humongous.

On Dec 4, 2025, Special pujas and homams will be conducted at Orikai Manimandapam for the inauguration of this chariot.

On Dec 5, 12 PM to 2 PM during Mrugaseerisham star special puja will be conducted for this golden chariot with a trial run.

On Dec 6, 2025 at 3 PM inauguration of this golden chariot will be held with both of our Periyavas starting off this divine chariot by pulling the rope.

On Dec 8, 2025 after Sri Ekambaranathar Maha Kumbabishekam is complete, both our Periyvas will be handing over this chariot formally to the HRCE who is managing this ancient temple.

Request all devotes to come forward and take part in this auspicious event where we get a rare opportunity to pull the chariot along with our Periyavas.

All the details, news paper reports, video clippings/pictures of this golden chariot has been posted below. Please attend this grand event and share this post as much possible.

Sri Periyava Thiruvadi Sharanam,

  1. एकाम्रनाथः ( एक- आम्र- नाथः) is the correct Sanskrit name of Lord Shiva, the presiding deity of Kanchipuram temple.

  2. Dear Sai Srinivasan. Taking liberty to ask you a doubt. Goddess Kamkshi did TAPAS nder a SINGLE MANGO TREE – EKA AMRA .
Eka ambaram means one cloth. Usually a single cloth is worn during Aparakarayam.
WHether Bhagavan Ziva here is Eka AMra Iswara or Eka AMbra Iswara?
