Namaskarams
Adhika maasam aka Purushottama masam comes once in 2.5 years when two amavasya comes during one solar month (தமிழ் மாசம்). Sastra says, all personal festivities should be avoided in this month. This month is very auspicious for doing Japam, Daanam, Parayanam etc.
Since this adhika masam coincides with Aadi (ஆடி) according to solar calendar – auspicious for Amba and Shravana according to lunar calendar auspicious for Shiva , we will be alternating Soundaryalahari and Shivanandalahari parayanam at 8:30 PM IST (11 AM EST) daily starting from tomorrow 18th July 2023 till 16th August 2023. It will take 30-40 mins daily to finish the parayanam. For those who are learning the shlokas, it would be a very good opportunity to practice the shlokas as well.
