Dhanur masa pooja, parayanam from tomorrow (15th Dec 2020)

Art by Keshav

Dhanur masam as such starts from 16th Dec. But Makara sankaranthi (Pongal) is on 14th Jan thus leaving only 29 days in Margazhi. So panchangam using certain rules says, “dhanur masa puja from 15th Dec 2020”. So let us start Thiruppavai Thiruvembavai / Thiruppalliezhchi parayanam from tomorrow. We can read one paasuram from Thiruppavai daily for 30 days and one from Thiruvembaavai daily for the first 20 days and one from Thiruppalliezhchi daily for the next ten days. We can also read all 60 pasurams daily on all 30 days. It will take only 25 minutes.

I have no words to express my gratitude for this kind of pious and noble service. Pl. accept my sincere Pranam for your kindness towards this blog visitors.

Jaya Jaya Shankara…… Hara Hara Shankara…..

  2. It’s a good suggestion provided you want to complete the recital 30 pasurams, one a day.
But in all temples recitation starts only on 16th and they will end with the recitation of 29th and 30th pasurams ( 9 & 10 pasurams of Tirupalliyezhuchi) on the last day.
I think it would be convenient if we follow this general pattern, if you are going to recite one pasuram a day, so that there will not be any confusion.
Of course, for those who want ton recite all the hymns everyday, there is no problem at all.

Our tradition is such that every single day is auspicious (sudhinam). “பெரியானை பெரும் பற்ற புலியூரானைப் பேசாத நாளெல்லாம் பிறவா நாளே” is expressed by Navukkararasar.
Among the months, Bhagwan says, “Maasaanaam maargasheersho’hamritoonaam kusumaakarah.”
    Looking forward for the recital.
(Anna, what will be the timings for parayanam?)
