  1. Mahesh,

Had the opportunity to visit the hallowed location of Periyava’s Chaturmasyam at Katupalli. Well it was a contrast to the development of the surrounding area. Some photos are there on my PDA which I can upload if you give me a mail to nsubram_1@yahoo.com
The saving grace is that the villagers are trying to raise a temple for the Shiva linga, ambal and Chandigeswarar, found in the village during excavation, about two years ago, for a building, almost opposite to location where Periyavaa observed his Chaturmasyam.

  2. On this day ( guruvaram and Anusham) all i can say is we have reached a point of no return and there is no return to the halcyon days until the yuga pralayam, which may not be far away (a calculation by Sivan Sir in YPM).
As I’m penning this I am nearing a place where Periyava did his Chaturmasyam – Katupalli and it bears no resemblance to those days – two ports, two thermal plants, a ship building yard, a desalination plant etc etc and we are all convinced we are moving ahead?! – so be it…

    Regards,
    N Subramanian
