Sri Vedha Vidya Asharamam is now enrolling students from the age 7 to 11 for Krishna Yajurveda. The children in this age group must have had their Upanayanam ceremony done. Please find attached the banner in this regard, created by Ganapatigal Gururaman who runs this veda patasala at West Mambalam. Shri Karthik Narasimhan forwarded this to me, to be posted here and elsewhere. He says that Ganapatigal requested him to let everyone know. Patrons at a 70 year old Veda Paathasala (Smaartham and Kramaantam) at Guntur have taken upon them an onerous task of expanding the institution into a holistic one which would now also include Ghana also.
They have proposed to construct a new 3 storey building for this purpose beside the already existing one. The new building will have classrooms, dining hall and guestrooms for any erudite visitors et al. The old building would be used for housing the veda students.
This paathasaala has a history of 70 years and is patronized by both the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham and Sringeri Peetham.
The present Jagadguru of Sringeri Peetham Sri Sri Sri Bharathi Theertha Swamyji gave one examination here in his purva-ashrama. During His recent Vijaya Yatra at Guntur, the Jagadguru awarded a reward of Rs.10 Lakhs for the development of this paathasala.

In olden days (even now some patasalas do) AVAHANTHI HOMAM was performed to draw sishyas from all parts of the country
