SHORT-TERM INTRODUCTORY COURSES

Need:

The greatness of a Nation is reflected by the richness of its culture. India has been admired the world over for its rich Culture, Traditions & Knowledge. A situation has arisen wherein our own children and youth are missing the opportunity to become aware of the depth and greatness of our Culture. What was naturally available to an earlier generation has now become rare, nor are such courses part of the syllabus in contemporary education system.

Concept:

With a view to filling this void and enabling youngsters to get introduced to different wonderful facets of our culture – a treasure trove, Shankaracharya Swamigals of Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam HH Jagadguru Pujyashri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal and HH Jagadguru Pujyashri Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal have directed that short-term vocational training courses should be offered in various parts of our Country.

Under the auspices of Sri Chandrasekharapuram Cultural Training Centre, Kancheepuram, short-term vocational introductory courses have been formulated under the following categories. These courses will go a long way in instilling pride in us about our ancient Shastras & appreciating different arts.

To initiate young children to draw temple related subjects like different kinds of Gopuras, Shikharas, Sculptures, Mandapas, Prakaras, Vahanas, Utsavs.

Vaastu Parichayam *

To initiate the elements of Vaastu Shastra to the budding engineers (This course is mainly for Engineering Students)

Getting Involved:

It is the desire of His Holiness that like-minded people should get together and implement the above courses for the benefit of society in all parts of our country. The different stake-holders include

Schools/ colleges

which can implement the scheme for students in their own institutions, as well as serve as centres where others from nearby areas can participate in weekend programmes

Trainers

anyone with knowledge in the above subjects, including school-teachers, professors, retired persons etc. – can take up the training and conduct the above courses, especially on voluntary basis.

Parents

must make it a point to enroll their children in such courses and enable them to realize the significance of such courses.

Corporates

Can provide financial support for printing material, creating awareness programmes, Sponsoring competitions and contests based on the above courses, Sponsoring TV programmes for above courses.
