Periyava had asked Shri Joshi to make a Kuthu Vilakku (lamp) of gold and bring it to Him. For some reason Shri Joshi could not go to the Matam and instead sent it through another devotee Shri Ramanan.
Shri Ramanan submitted the lamp to Him when he went to have His Darshan. On seeing the lamp Periyava took it in His Hand and tells those who had assembled near Him:
“During all days of Navarathri, Ambal comes physically and sits exactly at 8 pm on the Meru in Kamakshi Amman Temple. So, take this lamp, light it and place it near the Meru! Since the Meru will be become hot due to the heat of the flame, prepare a ball of sandhanam (sandalwood paste) and place the lamp on top of it!”

Today I was casually watching Shri Ramanan’s old interview where he narrates this timely Navarathri incident! Was blessed to run into him two months back at Pondy Bazar where Shivaraman Sir had dropped me so that I could meet with our Shri Mohan Ramiah!

The picture is extremely beautiful. In fact it is a divine darshan, One can watch the Golden Lamp if one visits Kancheepuram. Shri Ramanan is really blessed devotee. Jaya Jaya Shankara, Hara Hara Shankara!. In Perungalathur also, there is a Kamakshi Amman Temple, which is well maintained.

This painting of Ambal is in Kamakshiamman temple, kanchi.
i had tried a few angles and taken some photos and got similar images. Due to the painting’s location, more light on Her right side and glass in the frame, exposure is not uniform for a less skilled photographer like me.
Would be grateful if some devotee with good photographic skills could post a properly exposed photo for the benefit of Her devotees.

Hariom…. one particular year I spent 10days of Navaratri in Kanchipuram, at Amma’s sannidhi…I also performed the 10day Navavaram pooja and during the evening pooja ,Gayatri Mandapam, where devotees are allowed to sit gets very very hot….also please note Amma’s eyes always sweep from one side to another…the Stanika Arachaka brothers Ramesh and Babu pointed this to me….. HER presence is ununmistakable…..you have to see and experience it to believe it….

என்னவொரு அரிய ரஹஸ்யம்! ஸ்ரீ ரமணன் அவர்களே இந்தத் தகவலை ஒரு ஒளிப்பேழையில் சொல்லி ஆனந்தித்திருக்கிறார்.
Those who are unable to visit Kanchi to have the Darshan of Kamakshi Amman
they can a light lamp at home in front of her decorated picture and offer her
Neivadhyam daily evening without fail during Navaratri period and distribute to
the female children.
