He said when he went to Mahaswamigal to get His blessings for his Upanayanam, Swamigal showered His grace by giving him a Poorrnaphalam Matta Thengai and told him, “do your Adhyayanam properly and you will be blessed!”.

Dear all., kindly refer to my earlier comment on the subject. Adambakkam sankara matam was established during the year 1987 after receiving direct blessings/ instructions from Mahaperiavaa. After securing possession of land (1.5 grounds) we approached Mahaperiava seeking his Blessings for consructing a temple. Mahaperiavaa told us” In Nanganallur area there are several temples. So, construct a matam and establish a veda patasala there”. we have carried out the instructions and presently we have a matam (with sannadhi for Sri. Adi sankara and four sishyas and for Padhukas) and a vedic patasala for sama vedam and yajur vedam under gurukulam mode. We are financially sound and we can take upto 30 to 40 students. Hence we once again appeal to all devotees of Mahaperiavaa to take suitable steps for bringing vidhyarthees(students) to our veda patasala.

Had a short conversation with Shri Makarabhushanam mama of Thogur. Some useful details:
He has at present six resident vedic students as per our Gurukula system.
Each adhyaayi spends an average of 9 years in the Gurukulam to master the Sukthas, Brahmanas and Grihyasutras.
He maintains 11 cows – 7 of which are milk-yielding, in a traditional Goshaala. He uses the milk, dung etc. obtained from the cows tended in the Goshaala only, for all the Gurukulam’s needs and doesn’t procure them from outside.
The cost of feeding these cows averages Rs. 12k per month.

On my recent visit to Melattur vedha pata sala, I was told that a donor who was taking care of the grocery needs of the vedha pata sala to the tune of Rs.14,000/- a month, has suddenly stopped contributing. Please help them.
PS: I am however, contributing to some extent to both these pata salas with the support of my friends.

Sirugumani is very close to Periyava and we all are very much aware of how periyava took spl care to setup and maintain the sirugumani pathashala…
