One of the greatest devotees and down to earth soul Neyveli Bala paati has attained the Lotus feet of Mahaperiyava on 29th Jan(Makam Nakshatram). Paati never married and was content to be a simple devotee of Mahaperiyava throughout her life. It is our good fortune that we have some video footage of Bala paati when Shri Sivaraman and Shri Ganesa Sarma went to see the paati in a old age home some time back.
There was lot of noise and disturbances during this interaction. Shri Ganesa Sarma who knows paati personally for several years narrates the incidents, so that we will be able to follow the video footage more easily. May Mahaperiyava bless us all with the devotion like this simple paati. (At the end of the video, there is a Devara pathigam by Sundaramuthy nayanar when he left the earth to Kailash with physical body on a white elephant where he was witnessed and welcomed by devas and tapasvis. I think it is fitful that we remember this pathigam as Bala paati attains Moksham)
