பகவான் [கீதையில்] பூர்வாசாரத்தில் ஏதேனும் ஒன்றிரண்டு ஸரியில்லாமலிருந்தால்கூட அதில் கைவைத்து, அறியாமை நிலையிலே இருக்கிற பெரும்பாலான ஜனங்களுக்குப் புத்திக் கலகத்தை உண்டு பண்ணவே கூடாது என்று அடித்துச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். ‘சாஸ்திரத்தில் சொல்லியிருக்கிறபடி தான் ஸமூஹத் தலைவர்களாக இருக்கப்பட்ட அறிவாளிகள் எல்லாக் காரியமும் செய்ய வேண்டும். தங்களுக்கு அந்தக் கார்யங்கள் தேவையில்லை, அதற்கு மேல் ஸ்திதிக்குப் போயாச்சு என்றால்கூட, இப்படித் தாங்கள் சாஸ்திரத்தை மீறிப் பண்ணினால் மற்றவர்களும் கட்டுப்பாட்டை இழந்து புத்தி மாறாட்டத்தில் குழறுபடியாகச் செய்ய ஆரம்பிப்பார்களே என்பதால் தாங்களும் வழிகாட்டிகளாக சாஸ்திர கர்மாக்களுக்குக் கட்டுப்பட்டுத்தான் நடக்க வேண்டும்’ என்கிறார்.

ஜோஷயேத் ஸர்வகர்மாணி வித்வான் யுக்தஸ் ஸமாசரன் || [3.26]
”கீதை கீதை” என்று இப்போது எல்லோரும் சொன்னாலும் இது மாதிரியான ஸ்லோகங்களை முழுங்கி விடுகிறார்கள்! இப்படியேதான் இன்னோரிடத்திலும், “எது செய்யலாம் எது செய்யகூடாது என்று வியவஸ்தை பண்ணுவதற்கு உனக்கு சொந்தமாக அதிகாரம் கிடையாது. சாஸ்திரத்தைப் பார். அதுதான் ‘அதாரிடி’. அதில் செய் என்று சொன்னதைச் செய்; செய்யாதே என்பதைச் செய்யாதே” என்று ஒரு அத்யாயத்தில் முடிந்த முடிவாகச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்.
தஸ்மாத் சாஸ்த்ரம் ப்ரமாணம் தே கார்யாகார்ய வ்யவஸ்திதௌ | [16.24]
ரிஃபார்ம் செய்பவர்களுக்கு கீதை வேண்டியிருக்கிறது. ஆனால் இம்மாதிரி விஷயங்களை அப்படியே மறைத்துக் கொண்டு போய்விடுகிறார்கள். அல்லது இன்னம் ஒருபடி மேலே போய் இதெல்லாம் interpolation (இடைச் செருகல்) என்று சொல்லி விடுவார்கள்! – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்
Bhagawan has stated in Srimad Bhagawad Gita that even if one or two issues are not correct traditionally, one should not meddle with them and thus create confusion in the minds of those still ignorant. Intelligent people who are social leaders should act only according to what has been stated in the scriptures. Even if they do not need these rules and regulations anymore and have evolved to some extent, they should still continue to act according to this code of conduct so that the common majority is not misled and start acting confusedly.
“Na Buddhi Bedham………..Samaacharan” (3:26)
Though nowadays Srimad Gita is eulogized by many, they conveniently ignore slokas like these. Similarly in another chapter also Sri Krishna has stated categorically that one should act only according to the scriptures and none has authority to decide the rules of conduct.
“Tasmaat saastram…………vyavasthithow” (16:24)
Reformers need Gita but they conveniently do not focus on these slokas; they even go one step further and state that these slokas have been interpolated! – Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal
