கல்யாணம், உபநயனம் முதலியவற்றில் குறைவில்லாமல் தக்ஷிணை தருவது மட்டுமின்றிப் பொதுவாகவே வைதிகர்களுக்கு உபகாரம் செய்கிற எண்ணம் வளர வேண்டும். இது இல்லாததால்தான் அடுத்த தலைமுறைக்கு வைதிக கார்யம் செய்து வைக்கவே ஆள் கிடைக்காத மாதிரிச் செய்திருக்கிறோம். வேத ஸம்பந்தமான கார்யங்கள் லோகத்தில் கொஞ்சத்துக்குக் கொஞ்சமாவது இருந்து கொண்டிருக்கும்படி பண்ணுவதைவிட ஜன ஸமூஹத்துக்குப் பெரிய பரோபகாரம் எதுவும் இல்லை. இப்போது விநோபா ‘பூதான்’ என்று சொல்வதற்கு முன்னோடி பழைய காலத்தில் ராஜாக்களும், பிரபுக்களும் வேத வித்துக்களுக்கு நிலம் மானியம் பண்ணினதுதான். பரம தரித்ரர்களும் சாஸ்த்ரப் பிரகாரம் சுபாசுபங்களைச் செய்ய நாம் உபகரிக்க வேண்டும். ‘ஷோ’ இல்லாமல் சாஸ்த்ரப்படி மட்டு ம் செய்வதற்கு நிறையச் செலவே இராது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்
It is not enough to offer proper “Dakshina” (monetary offering) during functions like weddings and upanayanams. There should be an attitudinal change among the people and they should come forward to help the Vedic practitioners. It is due to the lack of such attitude that we are finding it difficult to get such practioners and this situation may worsen in the coming generations. The greatest help we can render to mankind is to ensure that Vedic rituals are carried on regularly.
