ஒருவனுக்கு நல்லதை சொன்னால் மட்டும் போதாது. அதை அவன் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளுமாறு அன்புடன் சொல்ல வேண்டும். நல்லதைக் கூட கடுமையாக சொன்னால் அதை யாரும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள். இவ்வாறு நிஷ்பலனாக போகிற நல்ல வாக்கு சத்யமாகாது. நல்லதாகவும் இருக்க வேண்டும்; அது யாரை உத்தேசித்து சொல்லப் படுகிறதோ அவனுக்கு இன்பம் தரும் விதத்தில் இதமாகவும் சொல்லப்பட வேண்டும். இதுவே சத்தியம்.

It is not enough we tell good things to a person. In order for him to accept it we need to tell it with love. If good is told in a harsh way people will not take it. It may even be counter productive. Sathiyam should not result in these wasted efforts. It should result in being good and effective. Whomsoever the good is told, it should give happiness to him, so must be told in a polite or subtle way. That is Sathiyam (Truth) – Sri Kanchi Maha Periyava
