…was approaching 100 when we interviewed him…. One should watch his interview. At 100, his memory is sharp sharp sharp – he recollects that year, month, ekadashi etc from 1930s!!!! I can’t even remember things happened last week 🙂 This is one of my most favorite interviews….Very innocent…Apara bakthi….
I am very glad to share that Venga thatha stepped into his hundredth year, and becoming a centenarian from yesterday (8th October). This great human being was born on 23-Sep-1914, on a Purattaasi Saturday, Vishaka Nakshatram during Navaratri. He had the great blessing of having Periva darshan right from his five years of age, and developed unshaken faith in His Holiness since 1942. Even today at his age, he is able to do his anushtanams without missing any.
We, all readers, do a virtual namaskarams at the feet of Venga thatha and pray Periyava to give him more (healthy) years.
What should we learn from this thatha? Unshaken faith, unshaken commitment to Periyava’s upadesams and sticking to it. How is this possible? Surrender to Periyava!!
