It has been the tradition that during the times of renovation of the Shrichakra Taatankas, Shri Shankaracharya Swamigal, the Peethadhipati of Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, coronated in the throne of Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Moolamnaya Sarvajna Peetham, the Adhishthanam (abode) of Jagadguru Shri Shankara Bhagavatpadacharya, would visit Jambukeshwaram, get the renovation of the Taatankas done and adorn the same in the sacred ears of Ambika. Ancient historical documents convey that Shri Adi Shankara and the successive Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peethadhipatis have renovated and adorned the Taatankas several times.
The Taatanka Pratishtha has been eminently carried out for Shri Akhilandeshwari Ambal in recent centuries by

- Shri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal, the 68th Acharya in 1908 CE, Plavanga year, Shankara Samvatsaram 2416

Recently, the Devasthana officials, Pujakas and Sthanikas submitted to Jagadguru Shri Shankaracharya Swamigal, Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peethadhipati the need for another Tatanka Pratistha.
Taatanka Pratishtha Mahotsavam for Ambika at the holy hands of Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peethadhipati Jagadguru Shri Shankaracharya Swamigal will be performed on Sunday, Krodhi year, 4th of Magha month (16th February 2025, Shankara Samvatsaram 2533), Krishna Paksha Chaturthi Hasta Nakshatra.
