தீட்டும் மடியும் கண்ணுக்குத் தெரிவதில்லை என்பதால் ‘ஸூப்பர்ஸ்டிஷன்’ என்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் தீட்டுக் கலப்பதால் என்னென்ன தீமை உண்டாகுமென்று சாஸ்திரத்தில் போட்டிருக்கிறதோ அதெல்லாம் கண்ணுக்குத் தெரியும்படியாக இப்போது உண்டாகி வருவதைப் பார்க்கிறோம். தனி மனிதனின் வியாதி வக்கை, மஹாக்ஷேத்திரங்களிலும் விபத்து, natural calamities – இயற்கையின் சீற்றம் – என்கிற வெள்ளம், வறட்சி, பூகம்பம் எல்லாமே மடித் தப்பான காரியங்கள் அதிகமான பின், விருத்தியாகிக் கொண்டிருப்பதைப் பிரத்யக்ஷமாகப் பார்க்கிறோம். அப்படியும் அந்த effectக்கு (விளைவுக்கு) இந்த cause (காரணம்) என்று ஒப்புக் கொள்ள மாட்டோமென்றால், இதுதான் எனக்குக் பெரிய ஸூபர்ஸ்டிஷனாகத் தெரிகிறது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள் மொழிகள்
Rules of Aacharam like Madi and Theettu (relating to purity) are termed ‘Superstitious’ since they cannot be seen. But we are witnessing all those calamitous happenings which have been predicted by the scriptures when these rules are not followed – illness/diseases of the individuals, accidents even at Divine places of pilgrimage, natural calamities like flood, drought and earthquake are frequently happening as the rules of Aacharam are flouted.
