சைவ ஸித்தாந்தத்தில் ஈஸ்வரன்தான் ஜீவனுக்குத் தநு, கரண, புவன, போகங்களைத் தருகிறான் என்பார்கள். லோகத்தை (புவனத்தை) படைத்து, அதிலுள்ள போகங்களை அநுபவிப்பதற்காகவே மநுஷ்ய சரீரத்தை (தநுவை) ஸ்ருஷ்டி செய்து அதில் கரணங்கள் என்ற இந்திரியங்களை அவன் வைத்திருக்கிறான். கர்மாவைத் தீர்த்துக் கொள்ளும்வரை போகங்களை அநுபவித்துத்தான் ஆகவேண்டும் என்று இப்படி வைத்திருக்கிறான். எனவே அவனுடைய பிரஸாதமான தநுவைக் கரணங்கள் ஓய்ந்த பிற்பாடும் அதற்குரிய கௌரவத்தைக் கொடுத்து ஸம்ஸ்கரித்துத்தான் அவனிடம் வேள்விப்பொருளாகத் திரும்பக் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்
In Saiva siddhantha or Saivite philosophy, it is told that Eshwara – the Ultimate Divine Force, gives the soul thanu, karanas (organs), bhuvana (world), and bhogam (pleasures). In other words, this world or bhuvanam has been created by Him, in which He causes the human body or thanu to be born with karanas (organs) or the senses to undergo earthly experiences till his karma or fate dictates so. Hence, even after the senses take a final rest, the thanu or body which is a divine gift or prasadham must be returned to Him with due respects and all the necessary rituals as a sacrificial offering. – Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal
