Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara,
In Vol 7, Sri Periyava says Adwaitham as ‘Sathya Tharam’ (highest of all truths) and Adwaitham accepts all other philosophies. The Adwaitha philosophy and the Shan Matha Sthapana reinforced by Sri Bhagawathpadhal is the only one that is aligned in wholesome with the Veda Dharma. Sri Periyava explains this beautifully below. Thanks to Shri ST Ravikumar, our sathsang seva volunteer for the translation. Ram Ram
Aacharya’s Religion is the only philosophy, encompasses everything.
All the good aspects in all the religions, be it the ones which acknowledge the Vedas or otherwise, the ones which were existing that time, the ones established by Sri Ramanuja, Madhvacharya etc., and the ones which are existing today all over the world, are all there in the vedas. Although the customs and practices followed may appear to be not adhering to vedic traditions due to differences in terms of place and time, if you consider the underlying spirit in all the religions spread in different countries, it is based on Vedas only.
As regards the spirit, I am not referring to only the philosophies of the religions but also the rituals. Even though it may appear today that there is no connection to Vedic culture in the rituals observed in the other religions, the spirit referred to as the heart behind such rituals cannot be said to be not existing in the vedas. All the religions, Vaidhic (Vedas-based) or Non-Vaidhic, have, knowingly or unknowingly, absorbed some of the good aspects from the vedas in their philosophies and rituals. Only a few aspects, but not adopted entirely. In the vedas, there are several aspects related to Shiva and several others, to Vishnu. Visishtadvaitham and Dwaitham philosophies have excluded the aspects related to Shiva and retained only those relating to Vishnu. It will be vice versa in the case of Shivadvaitham, Saiva Sidhantham etc. All in all, they have adopted some of the aspects from the vedas and excluded some. The followers of Meemamsam, adopted aspects pertaining to the path of ‘Karma’, leaving out ‘Gnyana’ (Spiritual knowledge) related aspects. Budhism has evolved in a different fashion, adopting only the ‘Yama’, ‘Niyama’ (rules and observences) and ‘Nishprapanja’ – the irreligious aspects from the vedas. When you look at any religion, it can be observed that they have adopted some aspects from the Vedas and excluded some others.
It is only Acharya’s philosophy that has absorbed the Vedas in its entirety. To say more exactly, it is not even Acharya’s philosophy but it is the original Vedic religion itself. It is the re-established original Vedic order, by our Acharya. It is only the path prescribed by our Acharya which is complete without any discrimination between Karma (action), Bhakthi (devotion), Nyanam (Spiritual knowledge), Yogam (Duty/Methods), Dharma otherwise known called Righteous conduct, Sapprapanjam, (religious) Nishprapanjam, (irreligious) Shiva, Vishnu, etc. and accepting all the deities as equals.
