பிறருக்குச் சேவை செய்வதற்காக நாம் எத்தனையோ கஷ்டங்கள், தியாகங்கள், சரீர சிரமம் எல்லாம் அடைந்தாலும் இதற்கெல்லாம் மேலாக அதிலேயே ஒரு நிறைவை, சந்துஷ்டியை நமக்குள் ஏதோ ஒன்று அநுபவித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. இப்படியேதான் நாம் பூஜை பண்ணுவதால் ஸ்வாமிக்கு எந்த லாபமும் இல்லை. ஆனாலும் பூஜை, பாராயணம், க்ஷேத்திராடனம் என்று பல காரியங்களை பலவித கஷ்டங்களைப் பட்டு நாம் செய்வதிலே, நமக்கே ஒரு நிறைவு உண்டாகிறது. நம்மிடம் நமக்குள்ள பிரியத்தினால்தான், நமது நிறைவை வேண்டியே சேவை செய்கிறோம்; பூஜை செய்கிறோம். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்
In serving others we may have to undergo hardships, make sacrifices, and exert ourselves physically. But the happiness and sense of fullness we obtain is far greater compared to the trouble taken by us. Bhagawan does not gain anything from the puja we perform. In worshipping him, in reading the sacred texts, in going on pilgrimages we find inward joy. Why do we perform puja and why do we help others?
