ஒரு தாய்க்கு ஒரு பிள்ளை
சாயங்காலம் ஐந்து மணி, பெரியவாள் ஸ்நானத்திற்காக உரிய இடத்தில் வந்து உட்கார்ந்தார்கள்.
அவர்கள் வஸ்திரத்தில் ஒரு பெரிய சடைப்பூரான் இருந்ததை தொண்டர்
பாணாம்பட்டு கண்ணன் பார்த்து விட்டார். பரபரப்புடன் கைகளைநீட்டி,
காவி ஆடையை வாங்கிக் கொள்ள முயன்றார்.”என்ன அவசரம்?” என்றார்கள் பெரியவாள்.
“பெரிய சடைப்பூரான் இருக்கு,வஸ்திரத்திலே….”
பெரியவா,கண்ணனிடம் வஸ்திரத்தைக் கொடுத்தார்.
“பூரானை ஒன்னும் செய்யாதே….ஹிம்சை செய்யாதே…. ஜாக்கிரதையா வெளியேஎடுத்துப் போடு….
பூரான் ஒரு தாய்க்கு ஒரு பிள்ளை…. ஒன்னை அழிச்சாலும், ஒரு குலத்தையே நாசம் பண்ணின மாதிரி…”
பூரான்….ஒரு விஷ ஜந்து. அந்த உயிரிடமும் கருணை, பெரியவாளுக்கு.
Every mother has only one child
In the evening at 5 PM, Periyava came and sat at the usual place where he takes bath. A devotee, Paanaampattu Kannan, saw that there was a centipede on the saffron cloth that was draped around Periyava. With great anxiety, Kannan tried to reach out immediately to receive the cloth.
“What is the hurry?” asked Periyava.
“There is a big centipede on the cloth, Periyava….”
Periyava gave the cloth to Kannan.
Periyava said, “Do not do anything to the centipede…. Do not cause any harm to it…. Carefully lift it and leave it outside…. In the centipede clan, Every mother has only one child…. Even if one is killed, it means destroying one full lineage of the centipede family…”
A centipede is a poisonous creature.. Still Periyava shows kindness and compassion even to that living thing..
