Sage of Kanchi

Thaayumana Mahan Part 3 released!

Thaayumana Mahan3In continuation with Part 1 & 2, the 3rd volume is released recently by Smt Revathi Kumar. Part 1 & 2 were incidents narrated by Brahmasri Vedapuri mama – exact verbatim of what mama told. Both the books were submitted at the holy feet of HH Pudhu & Bala Periyavas. They blessed the book, mami and asked her to continue her good service and advised her to talk to people who did kainkaryam to Mahaperiyava and write their experiences/incidents etc.

With that direction, Part 3 has been written with Sri Balu mama/swamigal (I forgot his sanyashrama nama). It is an exact verbatim of what swamigal had told. When the book was published and mami took the book to get anugraham from HH Bala Periyava, His face got brightened the moment He came to know that the book was published. Mami had donated all the contributions from part 1 & 2  to Lalgudi Sankara Matam and other veda patasala support. Periyavas know this. Mami reassured that she would do the same with part 3 too. HH Bala Periyava smiled and blessed mami.

There are lots of little things that we all should know  and practice. Introductions about other people kainkaryams to Him were explained like Pooja Kattu Needamangalam Sri Srinivasa Iyer etc. One of the uniqueness of this series is that the books don’t contain very hard tamil. When you read it, you will feel like you’re sitting in front of that person and listening…

HH Mahaperiyava says in one of the incidents, “Pudhu Periyava is my child. He is doing Kumbabishekam to Kamakshi – that is the right thing!” – jagan maatha!!! Periyava had three suzhis on His head – humans normally have only 1 or 2 (max)!! Although we had read that Periyava had conch and chakra lines on His palms, Sri Balu mama had seen it. Periyava had shown them to him!!!! There are lots of such small incidents/trivia….Do not miss to get all three books…..For non-tamil readers, I have already requested mami to come up with English translation. Hopefully she will do that soon.

This book is priced at Rs 75/-. I request you all to get a copy of this book from Smt Revathi Kumar. All the proceedings from the book sale will be sent to veda patasala as per Periyavas’ direction.

Quick background about Smt Revathi:

She lived next door to Sri Pradosham mama in Egmore and was responsible for doing “kolam” in his house for all periyava events. Mahaperiyava affectionately called her as “Kolam Revathi”! She is none other than the sister of Sri LS Venkatesan, whose interview was published here in the blog. Great family of Periyava devotees. I insisted Smt Revathi to give us an interview. She resisted. May be, I did not insist enough!!! I will work with her to bring out more treasures through her interview!!!

Our pranams to Periyavas for blessing this book and mami…..Our sincere thanks to mami for her selfless work in bringing these treasures to us!!!
