Dear Readers,
I wish you and your family a very happy and prosperous new year – bit belated. I was busy in travel and haven’t had time to do this last week. Let this year bring us more knowledge, wisdom and bakthi for us to progress in our spiritual search. Let our devotion to our Kanchi Periyavaas continue and receive all their blessings.
I take this opportunity to request you all not to thank me in each of your comments – I really don’t deserve those. You can wish me all you want – I need more of that!!!!!! Actually I am not doing anything on my own. These are articles that are published in various places and I am just cutting and pasting here. In some way, what I am doing is stealing – not sure if Periyavaa would punish me for this 🙂
It makes me feel happy to see some of you have seen our Periyavaa, interacted with Him and had experiences with Him. When compared to those, I consider myself very unfortunate that I never had the baghyam of interacting with Him etc. I am 43 now and when my 9 year son says that I am lucky that I have seen Him – I smile. He is true to some extent – I have seen him but not interacted with Him. For me, you all are lucky that you had much longer, deeper experiences with Him. So I am like a kid in front of you from that perspective…
I have had His darshan once – only once – when I was a school boy when He visited my place – Dalmiapuram in 70s. My father was working in Dalmia Cements for 40+ years. I was born and grew up in that place….He stayed in our place for 2-3 days if I am right. I remember that a messenger came running to the crowd waiting and told us that “Periyavaa has reached the outer road that leads to our cement colony”. As a 8 year old boy I was asking my parents “why can’t he come in a car or something?” – my question came because it was getting late at night and my parents won’t leave until they see Him. The response I got was even more confusing for me “He doesnt travel in anything – He walks everywhere”. At that young age, I couldn’t comprehend that statement. Finally He came that night and His foot in our place purified the whole neighborhood. Next day, there was a Upanyasam by Him. I was sitting may be 40-50 feet from Him. I was probably 8 years old then – didnt understand anything but still spent all the time in that session. It was not just me – the entire place got the divya darisanam during His entire stay. I remember He sat in our Kalyana Mandapam and all the school students lined up to get prasadam from Him. The entire town got blessed with His presence. Not just the town, our whole nation got blessed for 100 years because of Him. With His holy feet, He walked the length and breadth of our country and the darisanam of those divya padams will give us salvation. Wtih that thought, I want to post the holy feet of our beloved Periyava – a.k.a “Ummachi Thatha”.
Every person dies with unsatisfied desire – for me, the top in that list “not able to get darshans of Him more than once”….I wish I could go back in time with my current knowledge and get all the darshans needed, ask Him all the questions that I want to, do all the sevas to him etc – wish life were that easy! However, our Periyavaa’s karunai is so much that He had blessed me so many times in my dreams – one might dispute the concept of dreams – to me, it doesn’t matter – I see Periyavaa – I am blessed. I maintain a small blog whenever I get a dream of our Periyavaas. This is not to brag but to just log my memories – http://periyavaa.wordpress.com/… Please go to older entries in those blog….My experience from all these dreams – whenever my mind and thoughts are pure and dedicated towards Periyavaa or to any God, Periyavaa comes and blesses, answers our questions, clears our confusions etc. The reason why I am asking to read this blog is not to brag about my dreams – that it is pratayksham that whenever we are in a problem and we raise our hands to reach to Periyavaa, He immediately responds to our problems and consoles us. I have personally experienced this. It reminds me of a small poster of Him at my home that says just two words that give us all immense strength and support in this maya. Those words are “நா இருக்கேன்” -means “I am here”.
Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara
Sincerely
Mahesh Krishnamoorthy
