(on the left top of the photo, you can see the renovation work for 61st acharya adhishtanam)
Thanks to my friend Nanganallur Sri Mahesh to take me to this place couple of weeks back. Took some of the photos while i was waiting for Mahesh to come. Then we went to the temple and by the time I went back to the adhishtanam, it was dark.
My first reaction to the condition of the matam was quite shocking. This place is really falling apart. It definitely requires some work not to make it like a star hotel but at least to have basic things addressed – fix the roof, do some repainting, fix the electric things, tidy up the place etc etc. i dont even know if there is any restroom. This was not the ask from anyone – it is just my observation. If few devotees join hands, i think this might be possible.
It has a large hall where all events happen – i went a day before anusham and one artist was about to start her kutcheri. By the hall there is a sannidhi for adi acharya.
In one of the photos you would see a person in veshit – that mama/young man is 92 years old – super-active in the matam. In addition to that mama, there are two other folks – Sri Hari (?) and Sri Visu. My understanding is that Sri Hari is a vaideeka and he does the puja for adi acharya.
Right next to the matam is the 61st acharya’s adhishtanam. The entire renovation work is about to get completed in the next month or so. With Sri Balaperiyava’s blessings and many donor support they were able to pull off all the construction work cost. As you can see (zoom in the photo) that the adhistanam is practically touching the next building and there is absolutely no room there. It is what it is. Sri Hari explained me with the drawing on how the adhishtanam would look once completed. It is heartening to see that renovation is completed. Next question is on sustenance – I am waiting for more updates on this. Stay tuned. In the meantime, pl send your contributions to the qrcode and bank details provided in one of the photos. it will reach safe hands.
There is another adhishtanam for 55th acharya very close to this place – again it was very dark when we went there. There is a great couple who takes care of this place. I did not take any photos as i left my phone in the car.
Devotees should explore going to these places and support as much as you can to ensure that nitya puja continues. We are not talking in crores. In addition to us getting punya by going to these mahans’ adhishtanam the staff also gets motivated.
Hara Hara Shankara Jaya Jaya Shankara
