Noted singer Sri SPB donates his house to Kanchi Matam for vedapatasala

Shastras say that we all should give dhanams even if it is small and it also says that it should be secretive and not for publicizing. Unfortunately for these celebrities even if they want to do it quietly they can’t due to their popularity. That’s the price for their popularity. Regardless, there are great souls in film industry like Sri SPB who do lot of kainkaryams with pure intent. Salute to you Sri SPB Sir!

Noted playback singer Sri SP Balasubramaniam had promised a few years back that he would give away his ancestral house in Nellore to the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. Accordingly, now he formally handed over his house at Tippa Raju Vari Street in Nellore to Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. He invited Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swami of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham and formally handed over the house on February 11, 2020 to complete the formalities.

Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swami which said, the house would be used to run a Vedic school and he appreciated the singer’s generosity. Meanwhile, Balasubramaniam said that he was feeling very happy that Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham is going to turn his house into a Vedic school. He said Peetham had given him an opportunity to utilize the premises for a noble cause.

Shripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubramaniam (SPB) was born on June 4, 1946, Kannettamma Pettah, Nellore district. Later, he emerged as an iconic singer and settled Chennai in 1960. He has sung over 40,000 songs across 16 languages films includes Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.

Sri SPB has won 6 National Film Awards across four languages, as well as a Bollywood FilmFare Award, five Filmfare Awards South awards from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, and twenty-five Nandi Awards for his works towards Telugu cinema. He had received civilian awards such as Padmashri and Padma Bhushan from the government of India.
