பொறுப்பாளி யார்? பரிகாரம் என்ன? (Part 1)
‘ஜாதி என்றாலே மகா அநாகரிகமான ஏற்பாடு என்று இப்போது அரசியல் கட்சிக்காரர்கள், படித்தவர்கள் எல்லோரும் கரித்துக் கொட்டும்படியாயிருப்பதற்கு யார் காரணம்? ஒரு நல்ல அமைப்பு சீர்குலைந்து விழுவதற்கு யார் பொறுப்பாளி?’ என்று ஒரு கேள்வியை எழுப்பினேன் அல்லவா?
அந்தக் கேள்விக்குப் பதில் சொல்கிறேன். வர்ண தர்மத்தைப் பற்றி தப்பான அபிப்பிராயம் உண்டாகியிருப்பதற்குப் பிராமணன்தான் காரணம். யுகாந்தரமாக ஆத்ம சிரேயஸும், தேச க்ஷேமமும், லோக க்ஷேமமும் தந்து வந்த தர்மம் குலைந்து போனதற்கு பிராம்மணன்தான் பொறுப்பாளி.
பிராமணன் தன் கடமையாகிய வேத அத்யயனத்தையும், கர்மாநுஷ்டானத்தையும் விட்டான். கடமையை விட்டான். அப்புறம் ஊரை விட்டான். கிராமங்களை விட்டுப் பட்டணத்துக்கு வந்தான். தனக்குரிய ஆசாரங்களை, அதன் வெளி அடையாளங்களை விட்டான். கிராப் வைத்துக் கொண்டான். ஃபுல்ஸுட் போட்டுக் கொண்டான். தனக்கு ஏற்பட்ட வேதப்படிப்பை விட்டு வெள்ளைக்காரனின் லௌகிகப் படிப்பில்போய் விழுந்தான். அவன் தருகிற உத்தியோகங்களில் போய் விழுந்தான். அதோடு, அவனுடைய நடை உடை பாவனை எல்லாவற்றையும் ‘காபி’ அடித்தான். வழிவழியாக வேத ரிஷிகளிலிருந்து பாட்டன், அப்பன்வரை ரக்ஷித்து வந்த மகோந்நதமான தர்மத்தைக் காற்றிலே விட்டுவிட்டு, வெறும் பணத்தாசைக்காகவும் இந்திரிய சௌக்கியத்துக்காகவும், புதிய மேல் நாட்டுப் படிப்பு, ஸயன்ஸ், உத்தியோகம், வாழ்க்கை முறை, கேளிக்கை இவற்றில் போய் விழுந்து விட்டான்.
சாஸ்திரங்கள் இவனுக்குப் பணத்தாசையே கூடாது; இவன் சொத்தே சேர்க்கக்கூடாது என்கின்றன. அதன் பிரகாரமே இவன் வாழ்க்கை நடத்தி, வேத சப்தத்தாலும் யக்ஞங்களாலும் லோக க்ஷேமத்தை ஏற்படுத்திக் கொண்டிருந்த வரையில், இவனிடம் மற்ற எல்லா ஜாதியாரும் குறைவில்லாத அன்பும் மரியாதையும் காட்டிவந்தனர். இவனையே உதாரணமாக, வழிகாட்டியாக, முன்மாதிரியாக (example, guide, model) வைத்துக் கொண்டார்கள்.
இப்போது தொழிலை விட்டுவிட்டு, கிராமத்தைவிட்டு, பட்டணத்துக்கு இவன் வந்து, இங்கிலீஷ்காரன் தந்த படிப்பு, அவன் கொடுக்கிற உத்தியோகம், அவனுடைய வாழ்க்கை முறை இதை எல்லாம் எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, இதனால்தானே ஏதோ ரொம்பவும் நாகரிகத்தில் உயர்ந்து விட்டதுபோல் ‘தாட் பூட்’ என்று பண்ணியதை, மற்ற ஜாதியினர் பார்த்தார்கள். இதுவரை நல்லதெற்கெல்லாம் இவனை முன்னுதாரணமாக வைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்த அவர்கள் இப்போது ஒழுங்கு தப்பிப் போவதிலும் இவனையே பின்பற்ற ஆரம்பித்தார்கள். தாங்கள் பாட்டுக்குத் திருப்தியோடு செய்துவந்த தொழிலை விட்டுவிட்டு, கிராமத்தையும்விட்டு, நகர வாசம் (town life) இங்கிலீஷ் படிப்பு, வெள்ளைக்கார அரசாங்க உத்தியோகம் இவற்றுக்கு மற்றவர்களும் ஆசைப்பட ஆரம்பித்தார்கள்.
பிராமணனே புத்தியால் ஆகிற காரியங்களை ஆயிரம் பதினாயிரம் வருஷங்களாகச் செய்து வந்திருக்கிறான் அல்லவா? ஆதியிலெல்லாம் இவனுடைய புத்தி கொஞ்சம்கூடத் தன்னலனுக்குப் பிரயோஜனமாகாமல் சமூக க்ஷேமத்துக்காகவே அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்டு வந்தது. இந்தத் தியாக விசேஷத்தாலேயே அது பிரகாசமான சாணை தீட்டிய கத்தி மாதிரிக் கூர்மையாக இருந்தது. இப்போது, இவனுக்கு சமூக க்ஷேம நோக்கம் போய், தன்னலமான லௌகிக ஆசைகள் எல்லாம் வந்தபின் அந்த புத்திப் பிரகாசம் மழுங்கவேண்டியதுதான். இவனுக்கென்று ஏற்பட்ட கடமைகளைச் செய்யவே முன்பு இவனுக்கு புத்தி வன்மையும் பகவத் பிரசாதமாகக் கிடைத்திருந்தது. கடமையை விட்டபின் அந்த புத்திக்கூர்மை மழுங்க வேண்டியதுதான்.
ஆனாலும் — சைக்கிளில் காலால் பெடல் பண்ணுவதை நிறுத்திய பிற்பாடுகூட, ஏற்கெனவே உந்தின வேகத்தின் விசேஷத்தால், கொஞ்சம் தூரம் அது பெடல் பண்ணாமலே ஓடுகிறது அல்லவா? அந்த மாதிரி, பிராமணன் ஆத்மீக வித்தைகளை விட்டு லௌகிக வித்தைகளில் போய் விழுந்த பின்னும், ஏற்கெனவே தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக இவனுடைய பூர்விகர்கள் பெடல் பண்ணியிருந்த பலம் இவனுக்கும் கொஞ்சம் மிஞ்சியிருந்தது. இவனாகப் பெடல் பண்ணாவிட்டாலும் அவர்கள் சேமித்து வைத்த புத்திப் பிரகாசம் இவனுக்கும் இன்னமும் பாரம்பரியமாகக் கொஞ்சம் வந்தது. இந்த மூளை பலத்தினால்தான் இங்கிலீஷ்காரனின் படிப்புமுறையில் ஆச்சரியப்படும்படியாகத் தேர்ச்சி பெற்றான். அவர்களுடைய உத்தியோகம், சட்டம், தொழில் முறைகள் ஆகியவற்றை நுணுக்கமாகத் தெரிந்து கொண்டு, இவற்றில் அவர்களுக்கே தெரியாத தந்திரங்களை அவர்களுக்குக் கற்றுக் கொடுக்கிற அளவுக்குச் சதுரனாகி விட்டான்.

Who is responsible? What is the Remedy? (Part 1)
“Caste system is an uncivilized arrangement, is what politicians, educated and all others criticise.what’s the reason? Who takes the responsibility for a good structure to collapse?” is the question I raised, is not it?
I will answer for this question. Brahmin is responsible for the wrong impression about the caste system. Brahmins are responsible for the collapse of the Varna dharma that served us over the eons with pious and dignity (sreyus) for country and universal welfare.
Brahmin shed his responsibility of Vedha adhyanam and daily rituals. He forgot his duties. Then he left his native place. They left their villages and migrated to cities. He shirked his strictly followed customary rites (conduct and behavior) and outward body symbols. He trimmed his hair and started wearing full suits. The duty of learning Vedha was sidelined and had fallen prey for English education. The jobs given by whites were grabbed by him. More than that he copied their style of life in all walks of life.He flouted from all dharmas followed by Veda rishis, great grand father,grandfather to father, threw away all norms in the air and fallen for the greed of money, bodily comforts, modern foreign education, science, job, life style and entertainment.
Sastras say “A brahmin should not go after money. He should not amass wealth.” People from all castes showed immense affection and respect as far as he strictly followed Vedic dharmas, Agni rituals etc for the welfare of the universe.The society kept him as an example, guide, and model.
Other caste people saw him leaving his native village migrating to the city, following the western culture, education given by English man, jobs given by them, new life style imagining and trumpeting he has grown in his stature and culture . Now the other caste people who followed the brahmins for all good deeds started taking him as cue and went behind in this wrong discipline too.They left their jobs what they were doing in their villages with satisfaction,migrated to the town and were carried away to do English education, whites government job etc.
Were not the Brahmins responsible to execute shrewd works carried out with sharp brains for thousands and tens of thousands of years? For ages his brain was utilised for common welfare of society and not for self benefit. Because of this tendency it was as bright as a sharpened knife. Once the social cause took a back seat and the brain was used for self advantage and physical gain, the brain gradually lost its sheen. God had given him as “divine gift” to use his brain for social cause. Once the purpose for which it is given is lost, the sharpness of the brain is also abated.
Still – even if the pedaling of the cycle is stopped, without further effort, doesn’t the cycle run for some more distance?
The same way even if a Brahmin had left his religious rituals and fallen on the worldly comforts, the stored energy is left behind to some extent because of his earlier generations. Even if he doesn’t pedal, the ancestral stored energy helped him. Because of this brain power, he was outstanding in English education. He learnt in depth, their style of job, law, work culture and taught them the (cunning) tricks and even outwitted them.
