Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – Thanks to Shri Manikandan for the above picture of Ambaal and write-up below in Whatsapp.
Please zoom this rare photo of Sri Lalithambigai . All 300 names of Sri Lalithambigai as told by Lord Haygreeva to great sage Sri Agasthiya Maharishi are encrypted in the image . Wonderful to preserve and worship on daily basis.
Thanks to Smt. Padma for the sharing the below experience in Whatsapp; a perfect foil to the picture above. Importantly, we need to understand that Sri Lalithasahasrananam has to be chanted after getting upadesam from a Guru. A direct quote is posted below from Deivathin Kural Vol 7 (http://www.kamakoti.org/tamil/7dk98.htm) in regards to this. Ram Ram
//இங்கேயும் ஒரு விஷயத்தில் ஜாக்ரதை அவசியம். சில ஸ்தோத்ரங்களே மந்த்ர சக்தி பொருந்தியவையாக இருக்கின்றன. ரொம்பவும் வீர்யவித்தாகவே ‘லலிதா ஸஹஸ்ரநாமம்’, ‘லலிதா த்ரிசதி’, ‘திருமுருகாற்றுப்படை’ மாதிரி சில இருக்கின்றன. இப்படிப்பட்டவற்றை ஸம்பிரதாயப்படி குரு முகமாக ஸ்வீகரிப்பதே முறை. ஒரு பெரியவரிடம் போய் இவற்றை மூன்று தடவையாவது, அல்லது அதம பக்ஷம் ஒரு தடவையாவது அவர் சொல்லிக் கேட்டு அப்புறமே நாமாகப் பாராயணம் பண்ண வேண்டும்.//
Experiences with Maha Periyava “Chant this Sloka”
The jewels and money disappeared on its own. The dhotis and sarees tore mysteriously. It was clear that all this was the result of a malevolent force. So the family sought the help of a sorcerer and performed rites of exorcism and penance. It did not help. The head of the family came to Periyava who is the very embodiment of all mantras. Periyava listened to him patiently.
A devotee named Ravi was seated at a distance performing the Lalitha Sahasranama parayanam. With a snap of his fingers, Periyava stopped the reading. Turning to the devotee he said, “Ask him which sloka he is reading now. You may chant it a thousand times”.
The devotee learnt the sloka that Ravi was reading at that moment and chanted it a thousand times. There were no more disturbing events thereafter, such as articles vanishing from the cupboard etc.
It is human nature to be curious about that particular sloka. Of course, each sloka in Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam has immense potential, and they take their time to give results. But if it is to bear fruit at once, the command, “Chant this sloka”, should come from Periyava’s own lips. For, that is the very word of Sri Lalithambika!
