There are 11 Divya desams in and around Thirunangur near Sirkazhi within a span of 10 kms surrounding. Each Perumal is associated with a Rudhran (Shiva) or vice versa. The Ekadasa (11) Garuda seva festival, the colorful conglomerate of the 11 Divya desa Perumals in one place is highly popular worldwide which is happening for more than 100 years.
Somehow most of the 11 Shiva temples were neglected and no similar festival was celebrated for the 11 Shivas. For the first time in history, With the effort of various adiyars the similar conglomerate of the 11 Shivas is planned for this year on 11th June.
This may continue for how many centuries, we don’t know and so this first festival will be something very special. Kindly request devotees to share this message as much as possible so it will help many Adiyar’s attend this rare Ekadasa Rudra Darisanam. Ram Ram
